Up until last October, I had been a graphic designer pretty much since I started working. I quit my last day job as an Art Director doing motion graphics. I've been fortunate enough to have had some success in real estate as well as, obviously, this website. And I supplement with playing poker.

Since returning from Costa Rica a couple of months ago (and while in Costa Rica for 3 months), I haven't been playing very regularly, but I was playing quite a bit before.
I was playing $600 NL before (mostly last year). Now that I'm slowly getting back into it on a more regular basis (and having gone through a downswing when I was last playing frequently), I've dropped to $400 NL while I get re-acclimated. I'm surprised at how different these mid-stakes have gotten since last year and am learning to adjust.

Partly laziness. Partly due to the fact that running this site alone keeps me as busy as I want to be (there's more to managing FTR than just the forum). Also, to be frank, I'm probably not as confident about sharing and discussing my hands as I should be. I think I'm a better student (learning from everyone else's thoughts and hand discussions) than I am a teacher (not very good at explaining my thought processes, other than stating the obvious things). This last bit's a silly excuse, I know.

Making a success of myself (before FTR) without having a college degree. I'm very fortunate to have been gifted with some talent and got to the peak of my chosen creative profession. I'm not bragging... proper education is a good thing for most people. I'm just very lucky that I was able to do it without college, as I hated school. If it weren't for my skills, I'm not sure how far I could have gotten on pure ambition alone. The best part is having made my parents proud, after having disappointed them by choosing not to go down the usual route.

I don't believe I've met that one true love yet. Not sure I even believe in the notion of "that one." However, there was one girl that was special to me and with whom I had been friends with for many years after we ended our romantic relationship. She was the one that committed suicide years ago. Some of you FTR veterans may remember my having mentioned that here a couple years ago in response to the troll who made up a sob story about his friend's suicide to solicit money. Of course, one could argue that she is more special to me now that she is gone than when she was alive, but I can't deny my fond memories of her.

I'm optimistic that FTR will be around as long as Americans are playing poker. In what capacity depends wholly on how the legality of online gaming in the U.S. pans out.

Because it's not a Batman logo. It's a "Batleaf" (TM) logo... a pot leaf in the shape of the Batman logo. It's a design that I had created, had made and sold to head shops back in 1993 when I was working at a T-shirt design shop. The little white speck in the lower-right reads "(c) 1993 John Kwon."

if i start my own website (not poker but sports gambling) and got enough people and interest, could i eventually have FTR as a link on it? all i have now is an idea and a domain name, but if it ever turned into anything where I got affiliates, I would love to list FTR....
