On behalf of the Virginia Tech community, I thank you deeply.

Those who attend UVa, thank you for the bridge and maroon and orange day.

To those who attend PSU, thank you for the Spring game "Let's Go Hokies!" cheer and the maroon and orange VT.

To every campus that draped their mascots in maroon and orange, I thank you.

I may not have heard of all of them, but you don't know the lengths to which all of these gestures touch everyone here in Blacksburg. The sense of community not just with the HokieNation but with all those living the college life is indescribable.

You may not know it, but every little gesture resonates in this area and you should know that it is not going unnoticed.

It's really just a completely different town. Today we were just hanging out drinking a few beers, smoking the hookah on our porch and by days end it had blown into a party with everyone from our entire apartment complex showing up. It's like everyone on the streets are long lost best friends. Just the atmosphere is indecribable and beautiful. And I know all we talked about today was "Hey did you hear about PSU's spring game?" "Hey, Colorado tied ribbons around their mascot statue."

It's really beyond what you could ever imagine. Everything you do is felt here. So I'd just like to hear about anything anyone did so that I can make sure everyone knows.

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

And for good measure, I'm normally a callous and insensitive person so when I say these things understand that it is really meant.

I was where the V meets the T if you can see me.

And at noon the Cafeteria was silent. Imagine 500 High school students being silent the cafeteria.
For when you are not playing Poker.

I also have to tell you how cool Friday looked at VCU. It seriously made me feel as if I was a Tech student for a day. There was no place you could look without seeing maroon and orange...it was touching.
