Actually it's 1680 x 1050 (or 1600 x 1024). I have a 20.1" widescreen flatpanel that I run at 1680 x 1050, and it kicks ass (different monitor than the one the OP mentioned, but similar specifications).

Not sure why you say this is -EV.

I can play 4 tables with no overlap and 6 with not much overlap. But more importantly, having a widescreen monitor makes you look cooler.

And newegg sells a good one--the BenQ--for ~$250, free shipping. Excellent deal IMO:

I thought you had to have 1600x1200 to run 4 tables with no overlap? Unless you are talking about re-sizable tables. If I am wrong, then please disregard.

If you want to be picky, it's true that to get absolutely no overlap with 4 tables, you have to reduce the table sizes by about 10%. But there's no reason to bother doing this, because the amount of overlap is negligable; you can still see all players, stacks, cards, and available playing options. You miss out on part of a chat window.

With 6 tables, the overlap is not negligible, but it is not bad either; definitely still very playable. If you want to 8-table, 1600 x 1200 is definitely the minimum requirement.

i had the 19" westinghouse HDTV/ 1440x900..

then i switched to 2 x 20" 1600x1200.. i dont like any overlap at all.. but westinghouse hasnt given me any problems as a brand, and its the most affordable brand at best buy.

the tv looks great still..

Actually Silly, a 1680x1050 monitor should run in 1600 x 1200 mode, but I will check to make sure if I decide to get this one. I will probably wait until I see what congress does though first
