Last friday night i tried acid for the first time and holy fuckin shit did it blow me away, I think it was the most fun i've ever had just wondering if anyone else has ever done it and im sure some have, also any advice if i shouldn't be putting shit like this in my body

Um...I'm a grandfather so I can't possibly have done any of that stuff...in the past decade or two anyway.
It's relatively harmless in its pure form (like you could tell if it wasn't) but some people do not react to it well every time and freak out.
Best advice: stay away from it.
Second best advice: just remember that you are the one in control of it, it is never in control of you unless you let it. It's a mind game. Uptight people with issues should never ever take it.

The only thing I can throw at you is be wary of this stuff as it is very powerful. It actually changes the physical state of your brain. You also have to be careful not to do more than you can handle or it will really fuck you up. A buddy of mine did a quad for his first time and it truly fucked him up. It took 10 years for him to become 90% normal again.
Also, if you do it too many times certain effects become permanent. A lot of people experience seeing trails for the rest of their life.
Basically dude, this is a super fun drug but it is crazy. There's a reason it's only kids doing it. Adults have at some point seen the really bad side of it. Just do shrooms if you need a drug like this. The might not be as powerful but they don't carry the same risk.
Or be a man and drink for your kicks. No more of this pansy-ass drug shit.

If you use it recreationally you should be fine. As the article says, it's not physically addicting. I've seen studies say it's not mentally addicting, but I had a couple friends that had a mental addiction.
Galapagos's friend probably had a hit laced with something else, especially if it was a gel or tablet. LSD does not permanently alter the brain. The only drug I'm aware of that does that is DXM which is in cough medicine. It is very powerful, with the effective dosage being ~100ug, where Psilocybin takes ~100mg (1,000 times more).
The actual medical affects are really sketchy because the government banned all study on the drug in the 70s when they made it illegal (they were afraid the communists could use it for mind control).

Somewhat unrelated, but a friend of mine who had mental issues within his family and with himself, did shrooms, ended up freaking the fuck out, driving his jeep into some bleachers at a little league field in town. The kid he was doing it with proceeded to call his parents, worried that they'd file some kind of charges against him, or call the cops on him, HE was freaking out then...
On the way home, he jumped out his window and broke his shoulder.

My advise is stick to weed, but LSD isnt that bad for you unless you have mental problems. And I wouldnt do it if you are having a bad day or you girlfriend broke up with you or something. And stay away from Crack!

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone over the age of, say, 25. By that point you've done too many fucked up things and had too many fucked up things done to you to enjoy it with the clean slate you need. I think it can be really great developmentally for younger people, as it encourages you to think in shades of grey, not black and white. As has already been stated, not for people with any inclination toward mental health issues.

I agree with this statement. The age "25" is not really important itself. It's different from person to person, but the idea is that I'd not recommend this class of psychadelicss to anyone that isn't "young", or rather not to anyone that is "too old". This isn't to say it's necessarily a bad idea; some individuals are capable of it. It's just that I wouldn't recommend it, and most are not.
And definitely not to anyone that isn't extremely stable, generally happy, well-grounded in reality, and understanding and respectful of the power of these drugs. They must be approached with the right attitude.
While I've had a few bad trips on shrooms, I've been lucky enough to only experience good onces on acid. That was 3 years ago though. The loss of some naivity, increase in concern for my health, and general increase in negative thoughts about the world since then (i.e. a natural maturity in the understanding of world politics/dynamics) has made it likely that that if I took acid now I'd have a bad trip. And the fact that I believe this makes it definitively impossible for me to have a good trip on acid (ah, suggestibility).
And also because I've already tripped a few times in the past, I would benefit from it much less now than I did my first few times. There are extensive diminishing returns in the lessons gleaned from psychadelic of the tryptamine variety (e.g. psilocybin, LSD, mescaline, DMT, etc...). My mind has already been opened and I've seen, understood, and experienced some amazing things. And I've learned a lot. More would be as incredible as always, but not as generally helpful to expanding my understanding of consciousness, thought, experience as a concept, and humanity.
Also, to those people that are saying to stick to shrooms because acid is too much--what the hell are you talking about? At the right dosage, they are both, like all psychadelics in this class, ridiculously powerful, none moreso than any of the others, and none should be toyed with (i.e. they should all be taken very seriously). And bad trips are just as likely on any of them.
On a more pragmatic level, erowid.org is by far the best resource out there that I've come accross for drugs of literally all varieties. Before trying any new drug, I always spend hours on end researching it, and a good two thirds of it is usually done at erowid.

Hilarious thread. Advice... make sure you think about three things: setting, mindset and dosage. Setting: don't do it in places you might feel uncomfortable or where you might do something that could get you arrested. If you're doing in public, best not to carry anything illegal with you. Best places are out in the wilderness (with plenty of water and warm clothes) or in the comfort of someone's home. Mindset: don't bring any baggage. Don't do it when you're already wasted on something else. Don't do it with people who have a lot of baggage. (This last one is KEY.) Dosage: err on the side of caution until you've tried a particular batch. Know that increasing dosage can result in nonlinear effects on your state of mind. In other words, one could be mellow and fun, two could be mindblowing and fun, and three could have you crying for your mama.
If there's any schizophrenia in your family, definitely stay away. There's no definitive proof that psychedelics cause it, but there is a proven correlation. Scientists are split on whether the drugs are triggering schizophrenia or whether people who are bound to become schizophrenics are just more likely to try drugs. Either way, it makes no sense to self-experiment. That goes for weed too, unfortunately.

The first time I did acid, I kept several sheets of paper (printer paper, notebook paper, and a notepad) and two pens on me. I filled up 6 pages front and back. Some of it was sketches, some of it was words, and it was all in patterns. When I was writing I had no idea what I was writing; my conscious mind was separate from that which was doing the writing. I was picked up off this world and shown another place. I was torn to bits and my component parts thrown into a blender. Then the whole things was thrown back down to reality. And now I'm trying to put myself back together and understand reality again, but I don't know why. I don't remember why I want to.
