After I watched "Lucky You" and didn't like it at all my friends said that "The Grand" was even worse. Heck even Rounders was an average movie.

But seriously, how many really good sport movies are out there? Not many, if any.

Just rented the grand and was gonna bump that other thread. It had a couple of cheap laughs in it. I wouldn't say it was good by any means. I am definitely considering signing up at a new site with the screen name andyandrews though.

Story sucked, Andy Andrews was awesome. Ray Romano 's part was pretty funny with the football league and all, but the movie was definitely disappointing.

there are some good sport movies around, but mostly mainstream sports (Remember the Titans/The Rookie/Final Season all true stories btw so that helps I guess)

Most of the best sports movies are about boxing: Raging Bull, Cinderella Man, Rocky...

But Baseball has some too: Field of Dreams, The Natural are both decent....

If someone could re-shoot Any Given Sunday... I honestly think there is 1/2 of a decent movie in there... Al Pacino is good, Jamie Foxx is really good at times and awful at others, LT is surprising effective in several scenes, and Dennis Quaid and his wife (no less) are also really good... 99% of everythign that happen son the field is fucking terrible... so in that sense the sports suck.. but w/e.
So you click their picture and then you get their money?

The Program.........Best.Football.Movie.EVA. my favorite part of the movie was the andy andrews at the table with Phil and Doyle. "Honestly, what would you do if you had these cards?"

I wonder if pro NFL players hate movies like Remember the Titans, Friday Night Lights, etc because they are too unrealistic. That's the reason a lot of us site to hate shit like Lucky You and the other crapfests.

i doubt they really care, as its not about pro's, its about high school players. football is way different imo than poker, because football has been on television for 50 + years, and people have at the very least some basic understanding of the game. that can not be said for poker.

I thought the preview of it had a humorous part that i think many would miss.... as it shows various pictures of Woody Harrelson's ex-wives.. the last one is a picture of the Runaway Bride from a few years back that left some incredibly huge wedding.... ah found the wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jennifer_Wilbanks
