i'm not talking web surfers. i'm about to paddle out on no sleep for a dawn session. hoping to catch some leftover swell from hurricane earl here in va beach. i don't think a real surfing thread exists in this forum. just curious if any other surfers frequent the commune.

This was the view from the living room of my last flat, now I've bought a place about 1 minute from the beach so no view .

Supa, how close is this to you? Are you going down there to watch it? A couple of years ago we had like 10ft waves at fistral in Newquay for the world tour events (very rare for us) which was awesome to watch, but I imagine what you get will be a lot cleaner and better.

Yeah, it's halfway across the pacific from me. Watching the live feed all day coz I'm sick and have fuck else to do. But this is the biggest contest of the year. It's big and fucked up at there right now. Guys that can look out their back door to check it out are saying they're scared. They're dealing with forces that no American football halfback has even considered.

i was climbing at a sea cliff a little while ago. Ten minutes drive. This is the photo i took from the belay. The climbing wasn't that great. Dunno why i hadn't realised that this point would be on its 3 times a year cycle. I mean, it's a bit soft and stuff, but would still be a pleasant ride on my fish.
3 people out, someone is on the wave just breaking at point for context.
