Hello FTR! I've been lurking around here for a while and finally decided it was time to break the ice and make a post.

A little background info on myself- I'm a 22 year old Computer Science student at UNCW, I hope to graduate next semester and continue my education at UNC Charlotte in their Master's of Information Security program.

I've been playing poker for around a year now, and have enjoyed reasonable success. I started with a $50 deposit on PartyPoker and played the $5+1 SNG's for a while until I found FTR and realized that I was getting ripped off by paying $1 entry fee. I cashed out my money and made a deposit onto Bodog. I've been playing exclusively on Bodog ever since.

Playing the $10NL tables and the occasional $5+.50 SNG I managed to build my roll enough to move up to the $25NL tables. I played those for a while, as well as the occasional $10+1 SNG and the rare $12+1 6max SNG, and did fairly well.

Then disaster struck, I had to cash out all of my money on Bodog in order to pay for some stuff that unexpectedly came up. So, I had to take a couple of months away from poker to deal with that. Which brings me to where I am now. A couple of weeks ago I was wandering around the bookstore and found a copy of SSH, I purchased it and read it, then read it again, and again... Limit sounded pretty good, so I decided to make a small deposit onto Bodog and give some limit hold 'em a try. So I came up with what little spare money I could and made a $50 deposit on Bodog to play the .05/.10 limit tables. I've been doing that for about a week now and have had moderate success. But my game's just not where I want it to be, so I'm going to try to start posting lots of HH's (even though Bodog's HH's suck and it's a pain to type them out manually) and hopefully with the help of all of you I can become more than a break-even / slightly profitable player.

Thanks for all of the help your posts have already given me, and I hope to see a lot of you in my threads in the future.

ahhh, UNCW, I remember some of it well, mostly its a little foggy. I attended there for 2 brief semesters in 97-98, where I had more fun than I should have, thus forcing a relocation to Methodist College in Fayetteville, where I grew up. Lots of pretty ladies in bikinies, the beach, and great bars(the bloody Mary at dockside is the best. Always good to see another Seahawk
