I am running ICS on a Samsung Galaxy SII. The ICS keyboard is just OK. The Samsung keyboard is absolute trash. SwiftKey is a lot more intuitive than the stock ICS keyboard and does a better job of learning what you type (not only words, it learns entire phrases).

SwiftKey just put in a major update that makes it about 5x more intuitive. Miss a space? Itdoesntmatter = It doesn't matter.

Oh, and it only costs $2 this week. Stop being fucking cheap and get it.

Go Launcher EX (and unrelated live wallpapers) puts the entire iShit ecosystem to shame. iPads are still handy though.

i'm using Nova Launcher and love it. I was loving the swipe keyboard but will give swift key a try for a bit to see if I like it. I used to use a BB so it may better resemble that.

swift key has a beta right now for "flow", which is identical to swype but with much better word prediction.

Jack, i've used go launcher (as well as most of the other Go products) for a few years now but have been using Nova on my nexus 7. For some reason i dont like go as much on a tablet as I do one my phone.

    Thanks for the info guys.

I'm torn between the 1X+, Note 2 and the Nexus 4 for my next device. And then out of the proverbial nowhere comes the title contender, the Xperia Z. I have a thing for waterproof gadgets, so that is probably going to be my next phone. March can't get here soon enough for the reviews to be in.

It has Snapdragon quadcore now, so it should not be a slouch.

But more importantly, this is why I want to get this:

One of my favorite apps is MightyText. It allows you to send and receive texts from your computer/tablet through your phone. That way I can type my texts, or receive and send them wherever I have a computer/tablet. It is super slick.

And of course I get a BlackBerry Z10. But I'm handing it over to my girl, to get a Z30 instead. I don't play games on my phone, and as a communications device a Z30 can't be beat. Awesome radio te keep that motherfucking signal alive, everyone has BBM nowadays, passable camera and a proper file system you can access.

Of course, eventually I'll get an iPhone 5s for weekends or some shit like that. But in the meantime, the Z10 (and soon the Z30) is my communications/biz workhorse.

I love my z10, and with the latest 10.2 update, the android player can play directly .apks without conversion. There's even a droid store app you can download and install em' directly with.

I tried boom beach. So basically if you don't pay for diamonds you're forced to play at a snail's pace?

I've never paid for a diamond. Never will. It's a long term game, with little spurts of intense play, then waiting on until the upgrade is finished before attacking for more loot.

But there's fun to be had in attacking bases and designing your own to not get raped repeatedly and lose all your resources.

Is there much difference between boom beach and Clash of clans other than the setting and characters? I was looking at both of these as a time waster now that I think Simpsons tapped out has run it's course for me

Swiftkey is actually good now! I used swype for years. It was great during the beta, after that it became complete shit. Got slow, started crashing and removed all profanities from predictions. It was surprising to me how many of those I require to express myself adequately. I just went back to the standard keyboard for a while but swiftkey seems to do the job now.

The first ubuntu phone is getting released soon. I'm not sure I'd need it for anything, but it seems really cool. I haven't found an app that wowed me in a long time. Google maps and Evernote is pretty much all I use and I've recently ditched evernote for a spiral notebook and a stabilo.

I can't praise nanoloop enough. If you're at all interested in doing music stuff on your phone, this is by far the most appropriate app given the limitations of the platform. I play with it for 'bout 10 min. a month, but that easily makes it my third most used app.

Swiftkey is must have and was one of the biggest sellers for me over iPhone and BB when I made the switch. People still are in awe when seeing how I type compared to their phones

Never actually played clash, but they are similar enough Conceptually. It just never appealed to me. If you get boom then here's some free advice. Screw defence, focus on offence and specialise early in terms of your primary offensive troop.

    I still love swiftkey

You can remove words from it's prediction database too, e.g. if you're fed up of it saying duck instead of fuck you can simply remove duck

or, the words 'midget' 'tranny' and 'porn' every time you open google

Looong time swype user, I don't have a problem with it except for this (which maybe it's a feature I am now aware of).

EVERY SINGLE TIME! I swype "for" I get "fir". Who the fuck ever uses "fir" in a text? The only legitimate time I would ever want to say that is if someone asked me specifically "what is another name for a Xmas tree?".

I used to get "God" for "good", but they must have fixed something in a build because it's not an issue anymore.
