Just recently it looks like AIM is randomly openning a new tab in firefox when I have it open and spamming me with ads.
I dont like this.
Any way I can stop it? I really have no interest in the Hamptons.

don't use the AIM client
Use pidgin or trillian or digsby.

i use pidgin, but it seems like it lags a lot. anyone else have that? it could be something else thats running entirely too.

I have been using Trillian for both AIM and MSN together since I like only having one client for both. Absolutely no complaints. The IRC kinda sucked though.

lol, i still use aim version 5.9. idk how old it is really, but it doesnt have all the bullshit with it.

Pidgin is pretty awesome. I use it for AIM, MySpaceIM, Yahoo, MSN, and #flopturnriver.

I use pidgin.
I don't like programs that try to do multiple things, so I would personally avoid digsby.

IMO digsby is hawt. I like the fact it notifies gmails, giving subject first line and sender. I dont really use it for facebook - but it has all the IM progs that pidgin/trillian has too.
All the other progs are doing 'multiple things', so I dont really see the diff. This just has a gmail app added onto it which I use which is sweet imo
