Well it's either a death sentence or hodgkins disease. I can see that now. I want more of the story How did you lose the $5?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hodgkin_disease
Quote:
The disease occurrence shows two peaks: the first in young adulthood (age 15–35) and the second in those over 55 years old. The survival rate is generally 90% or higher when the disease is detected during early stages, making it one of the more curable forms of cancer.[2] Hodgkin's lymphoma is one of the handful of cancers that, even in its later stages, has a very high cure rate, in the 90's.[3]
Most patients who are able to be successfully treated (and thus enter remission) generally go on and live long and normal lives, due to a remission success rate of 90% to 95%.

He's a 33 year old, 185 lb, former pro volleyball player who is so strong that he could bench press a house and he has been given a death sentence, ldo.
Later, we find out it's Hodgkin's, so not really a death sentence. Scary, sure, but beatable. Try and keep that in mind, 33/185.

The Fight to Stay Healthy:
Back problems first emerged in the late 1980s. (Mario) Lemieux had a herniated disk removed in 1990, underwent further back surgery in 1993 and suffered from a rare bone infection. Also in 1993 he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease. Returning to the Penguins on the day he completed radiation treatment, Lemieux won the NHL scoring title despite missing two months of the season. Chronic injuries persisted for the rest of his career. An irregular heartbeat, diagnosed in 2005, led to his final retirement.

if this thread is for real it's serious and ppl should stop joking about it
I'm locking it b/c this isn't a laughing matter whether OP was drunk and making some dumb/level of a post or he actually has lymphoma, a life-threatening condition. Either way I'm a big surprised by all the jokes in this thread.

This seems like a serious situation and while I like to make fun of a lot of things cancer just doesn't seem like one that should be on the list.

Hodgkins has a 90+% recovery rate even when discovered in a late stage. As far as cancers go, it's a pussy. Still, serious business dude, all the best.

i haven't seen anybody make fun of anyone specifically for having cancer.
the op is going to be joked about due to the structure and how it's written, regardless of the content (which is hard to decipher to begin with).
op will most likely live a long and healthy life. i say we continue to joke around and have a good time, like normal, which will hopefully contribute to op's said long and healthy life.
