Will he be able to sell the seats? An acquaintance of mine is complaining that he won a seat through a freeroll, but he can't use it because he's underage. He claims that he can't sell the package because it's in his name.

I never thought I'd need to look into it for myself so my 'knowledge' on the topic is patchy at best - that said I think the following is possibly true:
I recall reading somewhere that winning WSOP (or other tournament) seats or packages through online qualifiers now are straight cash payouts, because the poker sites can no longer (since when I do not know) sign you up for a tournament and pay your entrance fee. Tournament registrations have become personal and not doable through a proxy.
