Just watched an episode of Fridge last night. It was pretty dark and interesting. I would suggest if you liked The X Files you will love this too.

    Extras is very good.
Just two very short seasons but definitely worth checking out.

Pretty old and hard to find:
    Duckman: Private Detective/ Family Man.

    Best animated show ever.
  7. #157
Speaking of Duck Man, I've always enjoyed The Critic (I don't know why I associate the two) with Jon Lovitz.

    Does anybody remember this show?

Ricky Gervais Show is funny... not really a TV show tho. I guess it was a radio show or meant as an audio book and then they made some cartoons to fit it. It's not nearly as horrible as that kind of stuff usually is, but I just listen and minimize the player. I guess when we're already there, there's a series of audio books with Gervais, Mergant and that third guy called "Guide ..." or something like that. I think it's a dollar or two each on itunes.

It's weired I love Ricky Gervais in just about everything he does including his stand-up, but I just don't care for the Office - the original one. I just don't think it's funny. And I've given it a couple of chances. Doesn't work for me.

On top of that, it becomes much easier to get accurate reviews so you'll end up only choosing shows that don't suck

Lost is a good example. Entire show was a bait and switch ratings whore. If you started watching it from the get-go you probably watched all of it, but if you waited until it's over you probably won't bother because now it's easy to find any reviews worth their salt calling it awful

Yea, i really wanted to watch this and missed the first season. Now I am not sure I want to waste my time. The finale has got a ton of bad press for not finishing up the series well at all and not answering a ton of questions.
  20. #170
It's worse than just that. They had exactly zero macro coherence. It became obvious that the one and only goal of the show was ratings, and they started with a bunch of incompatible ideas and threw them in whenever they wanted. By the end, they told the audience to go fuck themselves and that not one single event in the entire show mattered one iota

On the micro scale, the writing was pretty good, but on the macro scale it was so abysmal that I'm positive George Lucas was in charge

Also, they had a rather clear agenda in the first season of the show, but because it was figured out by the audience, the insecure moron writers weeped themselves to sleep because they weren't mysterious enough so they decided to change everything based on whatever whim made them appear ahead of the game

His radio shows are hilarious, there's quite a few of them on youtube, him, merchant & pilkington. Some of those shows are probably the funniest things he's done.
With a bit of luck, his life was ruined forever. Always thinking that just behind some narrow door in all of his favorite bars, men in red woolen shirts are getting incredible kicks from things he'll never know.

Man I love Gervais, but I cannot sit through his new show. It's an assault on my senses. Cartooning them in the studio is just a terrible idea. If they kept the studio stuff real life and used cartoons for flash sideways it wouldn't be such an egregious aesthetic mistake

I just listen to the potcasts in the car. I don't care for the cartoons either, but it's still a good show.

First two episodes were awesome. Let's hope it stays on this time.

Less omg, but I'm still going to watch it even though I'm ashamed to admit it: 3rd season of True Blood.

Futurama is a show that you can watch in between heavier shows. I suggest you get your hands on some Breaking Bad dvds and use Futurama when you can no longer look into the eyes of a true badass.

Is this not exactly what I said?

Since you can enjoy it any time, why not allow it to augment your enjoyment of another series that you might be less inclined to watch. Breaking Bad is such a series.

Raise your hand if you've seen the BBC show QI.

If your hand is not now raised, you have some soul searching to do. QI will be your spirit guide.

sounds reasonable. I think the hard part will be taking everyone's word for it after 4 good seasons to actually stop.

Inside Natures Giants on BBC4 is awesome. It's in its second season right now, but I assume they'll run out of huge fkin mammals to disect pretty soon. You'll know they've jumped the shark when they're diving around in some 2 ton octopus.

Guarantee you won't stop. A decent chunk of the Lost audience kept watching (me included) just to see how much they were planning on fucking things up.

Also, there's a lot of debate over which seasons were good, and I'm not sure you could say with confidence that 1-4 are good while the rest suck. By all means, each season or chunk of episodes was as good as the others, it's just that the problem was on the large scale

Lost is a gigantic bait and switch. Its small scale quality is above mainstream TV yet below premier TV like HBO, yet it was a macro disaster. I'm only saying this because it's very intriguing superficially, and if you start watching it you'll most likely finish the whole thing

However, it's possible there's value to watching it inasmuch as they did such a good job of making intriguing mystery stuff that simply being told it wouldn't deliver might not be enough to sway the feeble human mind upon the tricky experience. With two whole seasons left to go, I was fully confident the ending process would not deliver, yet still watched anyways, and honestly enjoyed the process of watching as well as bagging on it later

Extremely disappointing as at a glance it appears to want to carry the torch of House, yet so far it seems to be a standard episodic case show that seems to jump a new shark every episode.

Its an ok show, don't get me wrong, just not as good as I was hoping.

it's not bad. Horribly fuckin american, all yank tv shows seem to assume the viewer is too thick to notice anything subtle, which is kinda annoying. But overall quite watchable.

I wonder how many couples have ended up arguing after one assumes they can suddenly spot the others lies, since obv we are all experts at lie detection now we've seen the show.
