south park is awful
maybe I have a slanted perspective of these shows because I'm Jewish and actually respect my heritage/background and find it hard to support shows that constantly use stereotypes in a shocking manner because they cannot think of anything clever.

Every single plot for the last couple years has been extremely clever. I think you are referring to the subjokes to the plot (which are always one big jokes). The ones that make fun of everyone.

they're pretty fair about stereotyping and making fun of all religions, beliefs, people, etc imo. one of the characters just happens to be jewish and another one just happens to be an asshole that rips on him for it.
also, i believe the show is very clever.

I don't want to get into some full-blown argument, and some people might call me a bit hypocritical, but I don't like to support shows that abuse stereotypes.
I feel like there is a fine line between Seinfeld type Jewish humor and the things I've seen on South Park in the past (I probably haven't seen an episode in 3+ years).

Southpark is probably the cleverest cartoon out there imo. The plot is almost always related to some intelligent point or satire on real world events. Its much better than family guy where the jokes all start with "reminds me of the time when...." and then something thats completely detatched from whats happened so far.
Southpark > Simpsons > Family Guy imo.

and we cant compare the shows unless we have guidelines upon which to compare. simpsons is epic because it's so original and overall very funny, family guy is epic because the first four seasons were among the funniest things on television
its always sunny in philadelphia beats them all anyways

Also I can see Spendas point. I think its silly when one group starts hating on South Park because they happenned to be the target in one episode (like the scientoligists), but Jews do get ripped on in every single episode which is different. As someone said it fits the show because theres a Jewish kid whos friends with an asshole who picks on him all the time, but I can see how it would get old fast.
