I grew up fairly poor and I've been noticing how my attitude towards money has changed over the past year and a half or so, basically since I've been playing 50nl+, but it's like online monies aren't as important as irl monies or something. Here's an example:
So $100 at PokerStars is like some dumbass 5-bet shoves with A7s against my KK and I get sucked out on, no biggie. Later the same day, $30 at TGIF's almost seems like a lot of money to be paying for food.
It's funny how I've become numb to the chips at the online tables but I'm still like omfg a $20 bill. Thoughts?
Edit: Holy shit I just realized after posting this and seeing the date that it's Christmas morning.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

I've had essentially an identical experience... I don't spend hardly any money at all irl. Anything over $5 and I feel the pangs of regret (instilled by my cheap father).
I particularly feel the sting of throwing away money at shitty chain restaurants like TGIF or Applebees... ew.

So you click their picture and then you get their money?

so true, but tbh this is like the charlie trotters of the small appellation town that spoon lives in.
Im kinda like this too though. I splurge like a retard, but mostly buying things online which still doesnt feel like real monies. The other time where real money feels like online monies is on poker trips. I paid some MC at senior frogs in the bahamas to say some shit, I paid him 100$. Irl this seems so retarded, yet in pokertrip mode it seems so necessary and worth it.

I'm different - online poker has definitely killed my sense of short-term money. I've been wearing the same clothes for 3 years, the idea of spending £150 on new garms sounds horrible, but when I'm out and about spending a good amount of money on food and drink is nothing.

$100 on the poker table isn't $100.
A $30 meal is always -$30. But betting $30 on some street may be worth +$33 dollars or -$15.

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.
