I've always been active in learning, so I figured this time around I'd be better because I've been constantly learning. I read books, watch vids, and more recently I've been getting coaching from an FTR member who has had some decent success at 1/2 6m.

He recently kinda slapped me in the face, reminding me that to be really successful I've gotta be more active in learning which has motivated me to do just that. Posting hands and really absorbing the (good) advice has helped me clean up some of my bigger leaks.

What I've been working on lately is becoming more self-aware of my mental state. When starting a session, I can sorta feel how conscious I am, how likely I am to auto-pilot and make big mistakes. By either "getting my head in the game", or just not playing -- I'm seeing some better results. I just need to do that consistently which takes more sustained discipline than I've previously had.

Dunno what prompted that, reading through I was about to say that as long as you're not losing at 200nl I'd recommend sticking at it and working it out.

Seems like a few of us either starting or struggling at 200nl atm. Lots of hands being posted in the SHNL forum. We should start beating this up.

I really found that active learning was not just doing all those things you mention, but really focusing on them. I.e., not just watch a video, but pause and take notes, rewind and rewatch interesting spots, stuff like that. When I post hands and theres some good feedback, rather than just read it, I copy the hand out and make notes on the feedback/etc. This has made a big difference to helping cement the ideas I think.

Hit me up on msn if you wanna chat hands or anything.
Just playing to improve.

Thanks for the offer man. I've dropped to 100NL for the time being -- my BR has suffered too much lately & I do need to regain my footing with the game and remind myself how to play against ABC taggs, something I've been suffering with lately, leveling myself into spew/stationey play. I'm having fun again -- playing FR, 6m & HU. 100NL's been going well -- running massively under EV, but I'm starting to feel confident again & think I've been playing a pretty solid game.

So august was pretty bad. Got deep in a bunch of tourneys & ran like crap every single time. Ran like shit in cash too, despite feeling like I'm playing better than I have all year.

Here's to a month running at expectation!

-600 cash
-700 donkaments
+800 bonus

-500 monf

Yeah september sucked. No graph but it basically started good, got fucked by some shots at 1/2, ran like shit and made most of it back at 100NL. Pissed away my bonuses on donkshows etc.

October started good though with a 4.1k score in a $33 FO HU chop though so....here's to a solid winning month in cash

lol no update in oct. it was a good month. NOV sucked.

run bad, cashout to buy car, move down to 50NL with $750, luckbox $12/180aments + some cash winnings = back at 100NL with a 2.2k roll. Std for me really.

Apparently I only lost 9hundo in nov tho which isn't soso bad, even tho this graph looks pretty painful.

We're also celebrating over a year of this blog so let's all have a sexy party!
