So, now that its 2006, I was wondering how people's last year in poker went overall. I started in August, with some free money a no-deposit deal (won't post where, don't wanna spam) and reffered a couple friends, and had a free $125 to get started. was playing $25NL and $5 SNGs, and started building my roll up through bonus whoring. Starting playing limit hold 'em, moved up from 1/2 to 5/10, fell back to 2/4, worked back up to 5/10, and now I'm back to 2/4 again. had 9 MTT final tables, 3 2nds, but no wins. Now I'm doing some more bonus whoring to rebuild my roll, and I am planning to be back at 5/10 by March at the latest. overall, I made about $6k this year, but had to withdraw most of it. so, how'd your year go?

Wow. I played for real from june-ish time after uni finished. Played as a fish from sept 2004 until then.
Made 6k up until sept then had to quit as no internet at uni.
In that time won maybe 10 small mtts, bigest cash never more than $500. Slaughtered ring games upto 100NL where i had to work harder and made 200NL just before i cashed out.
Have been playing again since november. played ok was up for a while then took a massive down swing over 60k hands for 1.2k. Then FT'ed 6 mtts over chrsitmas for small change but about 800 total, 1 win.
SO i have about 15 mtt wins for the year, fair few FT's but no big cashes. Beat the ring game so i was very happy.
Started 2006 with a 700 cash and 1,2k up so 15k target is looking goot at the mo.

Well I started playing seriously online in July/August.
Had my first big MTT win in September for 3.5k and ended the year about +5k.

I did pretty good. I really only played 10 out of the 12 months in 2005 because I was at bootcamp, but I'd say it was a great 1st year playing for me.
I did have 2 incredible downswings that really shook my confidence, but I kept playing and built back up.
In 2006, i'll be busy with my Coast Guard training, but intend on keeping poker in the background. With poker still on the rise, i'm not going anywhere.

Started playing in may, didn't play much at all, started playing more seriously in August, didn't get to play as much as I would have wanted to, but ended the year on +1k

Went from $10 to about $6k. More importantly, learned/learning to play.
So far, 2006 has already been nearly as nice .
