need to play a fuckton before month ends cause have been absurdly lazy due to absurd bad play and sorta run bad. have only 105k hands this month which is pretty unacceptable given i moved to thailand to play the internet pokers. this month sucks but not playing doesnt make it suck any less.

have 7 days left in july want atleast 6k hands a day avg if not higher. will update blawg every day again with hand updates obv.

Ow ye, forgot that at higher limits everybody is staring at his hand for at least 12 seconds before folding no matter how crappy it is.

ok. so to start off it's the 6th day of the month. technically its the 5th since i'm running euro time, doesn't matter for all intents and purposes. basically i've only played about 9.5k hands so far this month and that is pretty unacceptable. and before you say OMG BB THATS MOAR HANDS THAN I PLAY ALL MONTH. well thats fine but you didn't move away from america to thailand to play internet poker. so i should probably be playing a crapload more than you DOUCY.

anyways i have this giant problem of whenever i lose over an extended period of time my confidence shatters. and i do mean shatters and i spend an equal amount of time picking up the pieces which only makes things worse. which is obviously a problem. usually it results in me bouncing between games, which isn't the end of the world tbh and possibly might be beneficial. but the bigger problem is it involves me either in play till even mode or i dont want to fkn play poker mode. which are both huge problems.

so anyway my head is not on straight atm and it shows. the months ive been in thailand ive played 130k and 140k hands and that includes spending 3-5 days in foreign countries with shiet or non existant internets. plus days lost in transit as travel drains me to a point of exhaustion which i cannot describe throughly. anyway i need to start playing again and play well again so basically just gonna do this prolly

    100k hands of 50nl
    200k hands of 100nl
    and back to 200nl

might move back up sooner dependent on a lot of things but this is a nice framework. people play piss all awful at 50 and 100nl which will be nice for confidence even if not so nice for wallet. but again monthly expenses in thailand are so tiny that i can focus on what is probably good long run and ignore the short term crap for a while. and let me say if i was truly in grind mode like i used to be a long time ago this could probably be done within the next 30-35 days but if i get it done within the next 60 i'ma be pretty happy. and tbh it's not a bad chunk of change if everything works out right.

    gl me.

Yeah bikes, stop being a bum. Maybe you need to set up a reward and punishment system to help motivate you. For example switch off your air con and eat nothing but Thai food until you hit a certain number of hands each day. Then reward yourself with tacco and cold air once you hit your target.

The way I see it, play more hands or get a job back in the US. Poker may be sucking right now, but it sure beats a job. So grind the shit out.

what are you doing for table selection? i know you play a lot of tables and that as you move up its pretty tough to keep doing that, but at 50nl and 100nl PS has >130 FR tables right now for each, so its def possible to do. get a big db, use tablescan turbo, and join the waitlist for the top XX tables and then every hour or so, rescan the tables and leave bad ones and join good ones. it may be annoying, but you are giving up money by not doing this, and if youre having a tough run, playing easier games will only help

thank you for the tips andy will definitely look into doing all of those things. its hard to remember things like table selection help so much when having bad runs. tried to do more of it today without tablescan, probably will get that shortly.

i really really really hate this insomnia. i've had it since i've came to thailand. i can never really get a full night's sleep and as a result i'm pretty much tired and feel exhausted all the time and it sucks. i've tried a lot of diet and excersize changes as well as white noise makers and all that stuff. valium is not very effective either. it sucks.

Still adjusting to time zone change? Or something else bothers you.
Anyway, here's a neat trick, I think it should work, but never actually tried it.
    1. Don't eat anything for 10-12 hours before going to sleep.
    2. Go to sleep at designated time. Sleep (or try to ) for 8-10 hours, or whatever you normally do.
    3. Wake up at a specific time no matter how fucked up you are, and eat a big meal, like lunch (no coffee and cigars and junk food crap).

This should actually set your biological clock to wake up every day in a time for that big meal. I suppose you should also repeat the process for couple of days, and once you settle in you can bring back your evening meals in your daily schedule.

    GL.

Go in to a Boots or other more western pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist and explain your problem and they likely will be able to help you. If not, go to a more local pharmacy and ask for xanax, but be careful you dont use it for too long

also, for the poker front, i have been thinking about getting into nlhe again and considered FR and came across this book that had good reviews Best Poker Books | Dynamic Full Ring Poker

its geared towards micros and small stakes, but for $100 it has to have something in it that would make it worthwhile, but either way, thinking about the game more and looking at the basics is a good thing to do during a bad run. id really say to buy the book, find a place to print it out, and then spend a day pouring of it, taking notes and creating gameplans for how to implement it

downswings suck and are really demoralizing, but if you can move past that feeling it forces you to re-evaluate your game and stops your game from stagnating
