Top of a new page, and turning over a new leaf, wooop wooop!
So anyways, as I stated in my previous post, I'm starting a blog to track my weight loss progress. Meanwhile, this one is SUPPOSED to be about me gaining self control, but so far its just 3 pages of rambling and making random updates about the goings on in my life.
That's not really accomplishing any goals now is it?
So, for what would appear to be the first time in this blog, I'm going to actually set out to pull in my emotions and not get so tilted about minor things. To start, I'm getting back into exercising, I'm going to try to eat better (I'm not going to go on a diet, but I'm going to cut out sodas, energy drinks, most of the fast food, etc), and I'm going to try out meditation.
For the meditation, I'm using this awesome link spoon posted in his questions thread. Today is going to be time doing anything like this, so I'm not really expecting much in the way of improvement for a while, since it says in the link that it takes a decent amount of time to see any NOTICEABLE results. Just because you can't notice the differences don't mean they aren't there though, amirite?

In other news (the random ramblings about my irl to dos will continue lol), I am talking to a new lady friend. Kind of a big deal for me since I haven't a relationship lasting longer than the time I meet the girl to the the time I'm zipping up my pants in over a year. So I'm understandably nervous about not fucking it up. Tbh, I don't even know why I'm worried about fucking it up, since we're not even dating yet lol. Nonetheless, we've talked a few times and I'll ask to see if she wants to get together either this weekend or sometime next week since its already Thursday.
So far she seems pretty interested in me, we used to ride the bus together like 5-10 years ago and she just randomly added me on facebook like a week ago. She shot me a message and then we started talking and I ended up getting her number and so now we obv use that to talk. She's sent me texts first so obviously she wants to talk/is interested which is nice since I fucking HATE having to always start the god damn conversation.
Anyways this post is getting fucking huge, so I'm off! Good luck and no tilting!

For me it is you douchebag, I set my settings to 50 posts per page cuz 100 is too many if there's a bunch of pics and shit since sometimes I have shitty internet and it takes 400 hours to load. SO GO SUCK A CHODE!

So I had a date with my ladyfriend tonight. (The guys on IRC have heard the story like 4 times now lol) It went really well, I ended up renting a movie and had her come over to my place. We talked for an hour before we even put the movie in and then talked through the whole movie anyways, which was fine since the video store fucked up and gave me the wrong one. (Was suppposed to be The Descent, but ended up being some weird thriller/slasher with some crazy ass name I can't pronounce). Had to cut it a little shorter than I expected since ~10 minutes after the credits rolled I asked her what time it was. She told me it was 10:15 so I kind of had to rush her out the door since I had to be to work at 11 and it takes ~40 minutes to drive to work and I still had to drop her off. She said she understood and wasn't upset/mad about it so thats good + I got good night kisses. WOOOP!
So yea, having that go well is a huge boost in ego/confidence (like I need it :P) and we agreed to make plans to meet up again asap.

an add-on to the meditation thing - try out some stretching after your runs. Hold them for 30seconds to a minute each, breathing into them.

I explained this daven in IRC, but I'd kinda want to make it clear to everyone else too lol. I didn't bring her to my place on the first date expecting/wanting sex. I brought her there because there really wasn't anything that sounded good playing in the movies, we'd have a better chance at getting to talk/know each other instead of a movie theater, plus she gets to see me where I'm comfortable, how I live, etc. Kind of gives her a glimpse into what kind of person I am and honestly it helps me relax since I'm in my own house which lets me have a better time and I can loosen up more than if I was at her place or something.

Poker is going goot, BR is over the $300 mark for the first time in ages which is nice obv. Hoping I can run that into $1500+ over the summer, but ldo not making any monetary goals. All I want to do is put in consistent volume and improve my game since thats the only thing that matters. O yea, I'm playing HU sngs now, incase you missed my past few updates with poker content. Got sick of the cash grind and 9 mans are too boring after playing them for a like a week.
Irl its going a lot better. I'm back home with my parents until mid May then I'm out on my own again. Thank god, since I'll be about 3 words away from choke slamming my mom since she's a dumb cunt the majority of the time whenever I spend more than 3 days at home. Other then that, just hangin out with my friends, getting drunk and high on occasion (moreso high than drunk) but trying to cut back on the pot smoking as of late. Starting to eat better and exercise again so I don't fat as shit. Looking for a new/2nd job but so far unsuccessful but tbh, I haven't really looked that hard yet .

Poker is good, I moved up to 10nl and all that good stuff. Still playing 6m.
Irl is going not too bad I suppose. I've pretty much all but given up on that chick. She's gotten really fucking dumb so thats dunzo. Too lazy to explain and most of the IRC guys know the story anyways lol.
I'm going to the MMA gym here in town, I went to the first real training session last night, fucking thought I was gonna die after the warmups lol. I ended up leaving early which I'm pissed off at myself for because I've never failed to finish a workout in anything I've put my mind to so far in my life. So I'm all hella motivated right now to go out and bust ass. I was just going to take a week or two off to get my cardio and legs built up before I went back in there, but my buddy that's getting into it is pretty good friends with the coach there so he's getting him to open the gym up for me on off days and he's going to put me through the paces alone so I can my body built up to where I can at least finish the workouts. Pretty pumped for that. Probably going in tonight to get my ass handed to me.

And I'm quitting pot as well, but since I live in Vancouver, it makes it a lot harder. I think it's +EV in poker, MMA and life in general. Let's try to keep each other off the green.

If I bet for value, I should be thinking "am I getting worst hands to call? Am I ahead of enough of his range that this is a good value bet?".

I did ok, I managed to pretty much double my BR over the course of a month or so by putting in next to no volume. They are definitely insanely soft and I considered sticking with those, but I'm stuck on cash again. :P
I'm not trying to totally quit pot fwiw, I still enjoy smoking from time to time. I'm just cutting back from smoking literally every day and doing nothing afterwards. I'll primarily just smoke on the weekends, and not every weekend. Probably once every couple of weeks or so.

Yeah totally. I just feel like it hinders my brain's efficiency too much. That's my goal too at the moment, but I really do hope that one day I'll be able to completely cut it out. Easier said than done...

Now I am not down on POT but this type of statement drives me nuts. I mean why the hell would you want anything to have control over you. I'm seriously way out of practice. I don't put many hands in, I don't study nearly as much as I used to, and the games were different. Like TAG was printing money so I could 12+ table and autopilot and print money at 10nl/25nl. It's probably the same now, but I don't want to just run 13/10 and win monies. I want to learn, get better, and move up. So I'm playing a lot fewer tables and I just haven't found my groove since I've gotten back yet.

If you want to be a rakeback pro then at least have the self respect and do it at 50-100NL
The real trouble with cheeseburger stakes is that when you have to move down because of whatever - you're not making any money anymore, so it's hard to motivate yourself to rebuild and so on.
Screw study time. Just spend less time goofing around in irc and more time playing and thinking about the game. If you want to do a sweat session, I'm available. Either way.
