sejje what stakes do you play?

I think my varience is caused cos all ive been doing is hunting down the juiciest tables, finding the Xtra Loosies and then playing for stacks.

The y-axis is in BB. Meaning the 50nl NL section would be twice as steep if the y-axis were in dollars. The program takes the switch into account.

Note that for NL the BB/100 stands for big blinds/100 when you plot for Amount on the vertical axis.

1.) I started playing NL50 and stupidly thought I needed to change my game style.
2.) After losing a few buyins I went into set farming mode and made back my lost buyins and more with skill and a little luck.
Currently at UB playing $50 NLHE 6max.
Bankroll: ~$1900 (Almost BR'ed for 100NL.)

I think its a mistake to draw conclusions from such a small amount of hands. +EV plays can be very high variance and give frightening short term results.

This is a great graph to show the extreme variance to newbies and how emotionally draining it can be to roll with the swings. After hitting 140, you hit zero 7 times but you graph still has that upward trend.

Rilla, and anyone else, could you draw conclusions from my 6max graph? I run at what I assume average figures, 22/6/ (and i *think* about 4 TA, cant check right now). i actually play 5 max, extremely loose tables normally quite aggressive aswell, eg NL50 Ave pot $15+, players to flop 60%+ on the pokerroom network.

i cannot understand it.. my graph looks SOOO much different to everyone elses, and soo much different to how my graphs normally look at 8 or 10max.

The varience seemed stomachable at first because very frequently the pots simply went the wrong way when I had 50-150bigblinds in as a 50-80%+ fav... lately from 10k-15k hands at 5max i think my performance has dropped and the graph has now shown a downwards trend from the ~10k point. Lately i've began to feel a bit like.. fuck .. ive not done very well on my transition to 5-6max.. hell my graph looks wierd i must be doing some major shit wrong in my game.. and its started to downhearten me and lesson my confidence.

Now, I know this quantity of hands isnt enough to look at the winrate or even the skew of the graph, however the graph just looks alot different to everyone elses and how i htink it should be.. like way more frequent peaks and troughs :shrugs: whats that all about!?

Its began to do my head in.. ive been studying more than ever lately... and havent seen any results - only a really wierd looking graph and not even a confidence boast,

I've started having an idea of scrapping hold'em completely.. for 6months or a year - so that I can really focus, learn and study omaha and 7stud, and the hi/lo varieties - so that hopefully this will give me a massive nice break from holdem and I assume this to be another approach to improving my holdem game - and hope to return to 5-6max as a far better player / hand reader.

(...this break cant happen until I've finished my last 50% betsson bonus )

Any thouths / suggestions?
Experimenting - 200NL 5max.

stop playing 5 max or 5max on pokerroom specifically.
Or get ready for some muverfucker swings.
I dont have a graph for it after PT dumped all my hands, but i can guarentee i had 30k hands that looked like your graph, going in a *very* general up direction.

I KNOW this is not a large sample, just running hot.

A bunch of different sites, though mostly UB/B2B. This is all 50NL, I have't really played much 25NL since I have the roll (from PLO/LHE) and enough NL tourny experience to allow me to jump into it there. I'm pleased so far.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

Thats nice to hear, its not just me! Well, the swings are quite painful but the fact im working off the betsson 7x 600$ bonus makes them not so harsh. Plus Im also gaining experience this whole time...

Logicly, it seems like a great site.. alot of crazy players at 5max - many running at 60/30 or more. Unbeliveably i found someone who, after 130 hands, was at 93/49... yes 93/49 - unbeliveable!
Experimenting - 200NL 5max.

And if you believe that sample size means nothing, i have a program to sell you that shows your opponents hole cards!! .. on sale for only 1999.99 (normal price $2000)

sometimes lady luck actually helps...

I just started playing 6-max again for the first time in months...

This is clearly an upswing, but at the same time I am playing (not just running) a lot better than I used to. (I dont even know if it's possible to run at 14bb/100 long term.)

The biggest problem is that I just cant multitable 6-max like i can full ring.

But you also play a lot more hands per table-hour...

Let me get another 20k hands and I'll know if i should be staying in 6-max or moveing back to MTT's.

Q. Is poker Gambling?
A. Do you use correct bankroll management?
