Hy everyone, finally i make a journal about my play and evolution(or involution ) of my game.To cut the story short i made this topic at the advice of scott_owen,but also because i want to recive tips about how to improve my game and hope that with your help and my ambition i can go up in stakes. Here is the link where you can read more about me and my evolution in poker until now.Give me some advice please
So lets begin with this month result until now.I will attach some graph and stats to give opinion about my leaks.I must admit that i imporve my play by open-limp less and starting hands better after the guys from the other topic argued me about limping to much.So i will wait for you people tell me what you think i do wrong, what you think i should improve, etc.Tnks

awesome, looks like your off to a decent start. I can see from your stats that you'r working on tightening up from the 21/7 you said in the other thread. Good work,

In the session that your down, on the 8th of may. Your all in EV is way down compared to your winnings.. did you suck out on someone? maybe you made a bad call, might be a good hand to post.. (might also be fairly standard, who knows :P) PM the history if you dont want to be bothered with starting a thread.

thats the 6max version of the position stats......for some reason Holdemmanager doesn't come with full ring position stats by default , you have to add the report manually. Follow the link i posted and it will give you a report that will show up as position(FR) where your says leak buster - position.

One obvious thing is don't call so many 3 bets either raise or fold and in most cases it will be fold. They are telling you they have a strong hand ....you need a very strong hand to continue against them.

good to see some hands, i could argue for some different decisions but its fairly dependant on your villains tendancies, I might have played these with more caution but my opponents are likely tighter than yours since i'm not playing 2nl. Since youve got HEM you should be running the HUD while playing. And when you post hands tell us the hud info. the AT may have been a fold if your villain was tight since you will rarely see a player get involved here with less than Ax. and he's the preflop raiser, so AJ, AQ, AK are all likely. That said I could also be way off base here if his stats are 52/20

scott, except the A 10 hand all villians were fish. The A 10 hand i played mediocre.I put his preflop raise on the idea the he want to steal the blinds and i have good equity against his preflop range from CO.But when he re-raise me i think would be good idea to fold, but i was thinking about the fact that he could have a small Ax.I don't really know if it was a good play or not.
The KK hand is quite standard for me to put all money in pot vs a short-stacker and in the AK hand the villian was so donk that i really didnt put him on a flush draw then, but now if i analyse better was obvious what he have.
On the other hand i must admit that i quit a hand quite hard,i'm to proud (read donk) to fold a hand even when i know i'm beaten.

Hi andy good luck,

Hand 2 above AK.

You can cbet less try making it 2/3 this will save you money when they continue and you don't have a hand. River is a big bet and the board is paired and flush is on board you can fold AK here. gl!

Take what I say here with a grain of salt because I'm only really just developing this skill myself. But I think raiseing this flop isn't great. This is because your hand isn't huge and your out of position. I would look to control the size of the pot over the course of the hand rather than try to get it all in early. When you raise you eliminate all of his steal range except for Ax. This leaves 7 hands that you beat and 4 you lose and 1 split. Plus you lose to 99.. your saying you villain isn't a complete fool so the range can probably be weighted more heavily towards the higher kickers which reduces your equity. If you hit a ten all the Ax hands are going to remain trigger happy on the turn or river unless your villain is super weak. And most people at 2nl aren't concerned about potentially spewing with A2 here. If you call on the flop you leave a massive range of crap in his range because he can cbet any pp, Kx, sc. All of those are a long way behind and you may get more value out of them on the turn as opposed to seeing them fold the flop.

After all that I still need to say that raising the flop isn't bad, obviously playing passively can get you into trouble too. Its so dependent on the player. Which is why I first wrote than you need to post stats/reads on your villains.

Your preflop thoughts aren't horrible either but I'd like to know what your villains steal% is before believing that A10 is good to play out of the blinds. I appreciate that you may have decent equity against a wide steal range here but its always going to be a bitch to play from oop. What was you plan for the flop? Are you going to donk bet to take it down on missed flops? If you hit a single A your going to have a tough spot if he raises the flop. I'd rather you do this kind of preflop play on the button when the CO or HJ raises.

At 2nl forget about defending your blinds, there aren't that many people that have heard about blind stealing let alone practice it. they see pretty cards and play them. ATs may look pretty , but you are gonna be out of position for the rest of the hand, could well be dominated , and because its 2nl villains don't fold any ace so you always have to be wary of flopped two pair with low cards. Also your min raise on the AT flop is terrible, Assume he has 33, you're pricing him in to call and try and set mine you .

As it played out your Ace was dominated ,and didn't improve and folding ATs pre helps to avoid being dominated .

todays AK hand. bet turn stronger around half pot and probably check the river, you can't call his shove and betting doesn't gain you a lot

yes I neglected to mention this, if your going to raise it has to be bigger.

agree with this also.. turn should be 2/3rds pot atleast, you look weak, and you definately cant call much on that river, so c/f river. hands without a straight will probably check behind a decent amount of the time. its a big bluff risk to take since 2nls will call with the shitty end of that, ie. 5x

note what keith means by betting doesnt gain you much. What hands are going to call a river bet there that hasnt made a straight? your either getting raised by a good straight, called by a bad one, all other hands fold and you beat those anyway so we dont need them to fold. so your trying to make trips/2pair/straights fold and complete air call.. not a good spot. note that trips/2pair isnt really in his range as his play looks very much like a draw.

Yeah, you both are right.I think i complicate too much when i should keep things very simple.I think i play a style suitable for bigger limits where people bluff more and try to overplay you, when at 2NL things are more simple and must give credits to player when they bet.But like i say i have a mental problem with folding hands that are good but not the best, problem that i try to solve.
As off what you say scott about posting reads and stats about villian you all must be gentle with me.Is my first posts on a forum poker and i don't really know what to post about a hand.I hope in time my posts will be more interesting and my knowlege about poker will be better then now.Any way i thank everyone that read and give advice to help me play better.

Dangerous thinking, the higher stake players have a better gauge of your entire betting line and wont fall for a bluff unless you plan it from start to finish and really make it believable, and more often than not when they fold its probably because they really did have nothing worth a call. In short, you're not ready to play in an aggressive game like you're talking about unless you can beat a softer one. You'd get crushed up there. I remember the first time I played in a tougher game, might as well have played cards face up, there's a lot to learn.

I don't mean to be harsh with you, you get tough responses here, thats just how it is. Read other posts in the BC and comment, your opinion is valuable even if you are way wrong and get some rude comments back. Good players get value out of explaining why your wrong, it cements the concepts for them. And it obviously shows you why your wrong and helps you realize what you need to think about. If some arsehole calls you an idiot it doesnt mean that you cant learn from him, it just means he's an arsehole.

Hello people,i'm still here,in case you thought i'm broke and I gave up poker .Actually the last 2 month were very good for me from my point of view.
In May i finish the month with +69$ and in June i got my best month 118$ profit,a very hard month any way.PS offerd a bonus of 25$ for the players that make 750VVP by the end of the month and get the SilverStar status. And i say way not let's try it,after all at the end of the month i will have 35$ in my account an amount that counts to my small acount to go to next limit. So i put a lot of volume for me in June to a achive my target.Boy was hard.Playing 3.000+ hands/day (because i got a few days when i could not play)some times 6500hands in one day, playing 12 tables was hard.I could play just after work that some times finish at 7-8 p.m and then come home play 4-6hours sleep,go to work, play. This was my program for the last 2 weeks, was very tierd for me and all most fail to achive my goal when in last 3 days i got over 190VVP's to make.So i go at 5Nl (losing off course ) to try to win more vvp's.But after all i am happy.I got 19 winning days in raw, just the last 3 days where losing days because playing 20-24tables at 2NL and 1000hands at 5NL.
Maybe i will have won more if just playing 12tables 2NL than winning the bonus, but after all the effort i make to achive the goal it will be very disappointed to not make it.But i like it.+60k hands 85$ from tabels,35$ from bonus was not a bad month i can say.
Also i was very dissapointing about the fact that the 5NL players really kill me .Every time i go to 5NL i lose very quick,so very, very dissapointed about how i play.I am a big donk-fish and very sad that i can't make money there. In this moment i got 229$ bankroll,so i can play very relaxed at 5NL with 46buy-ins but i'm scared.I don't know what to do next.Really want to play poker at higher stakes and not spend my life grinding 2NL,but in this moment i'm very poorly prepared for another stake For now i'm off the tabels to rest a littel and think about what to do.Try to play 5 NL 4 tables and see what i will do or continue another month at 2NL

P.S:I forgot TNKS GUYS FOR YOUR ADVICES was very useful and becoming better because off you.Still need you

graph is looking good.. you shouldnt fear moving up.. just take a small shot, move back down if you drop 2-3 buyins, Re-earn it at 2nl then try again.

You've learnt 2nl quite obviously, you won't make the next step unless you tackle it and that may mean losses that cause you to learn a few lessons.

you likely need to work on your ranging of opponents and feel for equity vs range.. PM if you want to chat about it, I can send you a few emails with some exercises if you like. Also, get in the BC and post hand histories for your big losses that you're unsure about.

Hello again.I know i didnt post for some time, but the situation is the same.I still play 2NL but simply because "i want" to play this limit. At the end of June i withdraw 200bucks from my account and left with only 29$.In July i only play like 6 days, after i work so hard in June to take the bonus. And now i am at 52$,the total amount i have to play poker.I know i didnt take the best decision when i withdraw but.......
Anyway here i am again trying to make money for 5NL(if that ever happens) and i now play again hard to catch the promotion that PokerStar offers with the Vip reward program.I will try to make it to Platinum until the end off this month.|In this moment i am 100VVP away from GoldStar and hope until the end of the week to make it.
About my game i'm very disappointed .I know im not a god player and i dont trust in my abilities as a poker player.Even that i am better then most of the players from 2NL and i think i beat this limit,i'm still have a fear when i sit at tabels, fear that i will have a loosing sesion. And some time i make up excuses to not play, fearing that if i play i will loose money.I dont think after all that i can become a poker player ever.I dont have the skill and patience for this game.I like it and i wish i can make money from poker but some time i really think i dont have a chance to go in uper limits and make more serious money.
And at the final of my speach i put a graph from this month and some stats, tell me what leaks you see

What can i say????Still playing 2NL because i keep withdraw money, then start from 20-30$ again and grind to build another roll for 5NL.Now i am a littel over 100 bucks and i hope i will not need money for something and withdraw again.
Here is the graph and stats from January (HATE HM2 )

if you hate the dark theme (I loathe it) you can turn it off and select the default theme via home-->settings---> theme-->default. which leads to the obvious , if its the default theme why isn't it shipped as the default theme.

How did you go back to HM1??Try that to and didnt work so i;m stick to this crapy soft I buy HM 2 because HM1 didnt work at all i really love HM1

Supa your right i could raise more, but i limp Axs,or small PP (22+77) in early position maybe is wrong but i doesnt seems to be profitable to open this cards from EP,or better said i dont know how to play them postflop. And about 3Bet,if you look over my last sesion i try to improve this too, think a 4% 3bet should be ok????

Stop limping. Fold AXs, fold 22-66 or even 22-88 from EP. Do a bit of homework on 3betting before you start trying to increase it.

I was writing a review for the software, so I was given a code for HM2 and got to keep my HM1 code. I think I only used it for two days before switching back.

I actually really liked the HM2 HUD, but I hated the summaries and the way they organized stats and results. People considering HM2 should definitely download the trial before buying it in place of HM1.

I dont know if you are the only one but I am sure i hate it I dont like how graph looks, how stats are display (very hard to acces stats when play 18 tables and must take a decission) it's a f...ing mess.Anyway i played another sesion today,a long sesion, putting 5.8k hands and take a profit to.One over other it was an ugly sesion, cant belive how lucky are this fishies.I know i should not care and play my best game but some times it can be very tilty. In the last days i start to play a more LAG game then before and it seems it's going ok if you know when to give up your hand, just look at my stats .Dont know if it is porfitable in the long term but for now it works and i will keep playing like that.So here is the graph and some hands

this is 2nl specific but

1. QQ fine.

2 89s why raise the flop. Take advantage of the fact that these guys will call too much at 2nl and you can't make them fold. Call and make your flush cheaply then bet big and they'll call.He stayed in the pot with an A on the board, not betting doesnt mean that they don't have an ace , it might be a shitty one or they might just be playing fancy.Continuing to bet with all those overcards is just spewing money. use some pot control.

3. QTs - think i prefer fold pre

4. even 53/11 get QQ KK AA AK . Until you have a read that this guy is 4betting that light . Given his stack size i probably flat the min raise.then shove that flop.A or K on the flop would hit unknowns 2nl 4bet range pretty hard . Stack size brings up a point about a couple of your hands you don't have 100 bb .Why not especially as you can buy in for 250bb at 2nl.shoving 5$ with AA pre is a great way to increase your winrate at 2nl

5. again ....wtf stack size are you playing. Why over bet the pot on the flop , jeez you only have 54 cents it aint gonna be hard to getthat in the middle. When your flop overbet gets raised how often is your TP shitty kicker going to be good.Theres a whole host of better Kx hands out there along with setstwo pairs etc. His min raise is hard to interpret as he may just be trying to get the money in without scaring you off.Whatever, folding is best.

6. AQ pre fine ...fold to steal stat on BB would be usefull for you to have though as 44/15 implies he is going to call a lot.cebt slightly smaller maybe .16 and fold to the shove . you have airyou don't even have the best air so why stack off and hope to hit.

You see that stack size because i loose and i dont rebuy until i lose all my stack.I buy 100BB that is 2$ and i fell very comforable playing with this stack and i hate playing with full stack go all in and lose 5$ so prefer this.
Now hand 2 like i say bad play but good equity to stack him
Qts hand i prefer to see it as a cooler this is it
His a huge fish so never fold here,NEVER if he got AA,KK,QQ then this is it but like you see he doesnt have,he only has an incredibly luck. And i play with him 100hands so i see what he plays and how he plays. If no luck have been involved those hands would be a won so.... no bad felling.
AQ hand yeah you're right should fold.
Thanks Keith for your point of view it helps to see how other people would play this hands so thanks again and any one is welcome to share his point of view

whats the difference between you sitting on 4$ in the QT hand and buying in for 4$. You have the same amount to lose either way . If you are not happy playing withthe 4$ stack leave and rathole and never learn how to play deepstacked.Similarly, what happens if you have been losing and you are down to 56cents like you have on the K7 hand and you get dealt AA. You have massacred your win rate by not havng chips on the table to get in the middle.

lets look at the QT hand in more detail then. you have top pair on the flop and and open ended straight draw yet you check the turn and let him draw to his open ender for free.on the river you have a nit , who has been ultra passive so far, now wanting to shovel chips in the middle. Since you don't have the nut straight and the nit isn't going to shovel chips in the middle without at least a T there is a high chance that he is holding AT simply because he doesn't have many Tx hands in his button calling range.

You call it a cooler , but it was caused by being out of position with a dominated hand. Its easy to avoid that spot just by folding pre.

Play a small sesion this morning and got a nice profit in short time.Games seem more profitable during the day than evening few regs and more fishies.I think this is it for today, will go and play some PC games (dont find any decent game to play so any advice would be nice) and i think i will take a day off tomorrow.

P.S: only one hand played poorly today and the biggest loss
V is 17/7-200h

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (7 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

CO ($0.79)
Button ($0.83)
SB ($1.87)
Hero (BB) ($3.81)

MP2 ($3.11)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, K
5 folds, SB bets $0.16, Hero raises to $3.81 (All-In), SB calls $1.71 (All-In)

Flop: ($3.74) 7, 4, J (2 players, 2 all-in)

Turn: ($3.74) 2 (2 players, 2 all-in)

River: ($3.74) Q (2 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: $3.74 | Rake: $0.18

To Keith:
Dont get me wrong i'm not saying you're wrong but this is how i used to play and i feel comfortable like this.I buy for 100bb if i make more i stay at that table until most players go away.Like yesterday for example i got tables with 7-8$,so no problem with playing deepstack only this is how i got used to play, stay until i loss my stack or everybody leave.
QTs hand you got your point,at 2NL it's a fold, but hey i dont say i'm a good player, this is way i post here and need your advice

I don't want to come off as a dick but you should eliminate this thinking like yesterday. That's how a fish thinks. When you buy in full, you can win big or lose big. That's no limit. If you can't handle it then go play limit, although LHE can have much bigger swings. Seriously bro, make +EV decisions and you win EVERY TIME, regardless what the results are of a single hand or a small sample of hands. It took me a while to understand this too, but the more I work on it, the less I tilt and view poker as the long-term game it is. GL with the grind man.

Hy guys.Yesterday i said i will not play today, that i will take a free day.Guess what????I didnt .Very poor decision because i was running like hell and lost 5 buy-ins,a lot of coolers like sets over sets,AAA vs str8,etc.But this is not my biggest problem,my pain is that i play like a fuc..ng fish .It was like PS delete my fold buton.I was calling every hand where i think they dont have it and i was thinking like that at every hand where they re-raise me or go all in and i was very happy to call to catch them bluffing.I was playing very very bad beside coolers.I will not even put hands because they were coolers or bad play. The only good think is that i manage to clear a 25$ bonus and after all it was a winning day. Here's the graph.

All those hands are standard bro. We all have ugly days where the fish get our monies. That's what keeps 'em coming back though. Take a day off from poker and relax. Come back refreshed. Your obviously on tilt

Just finish today session 4560 hands played +7$ but still not happy.Of course i run under EV over 2 buyins. My AA didnt hold again, fortunaly they were short-stacker so didnt loose to much, but fishies run hot against me AGAIN Anyway is ok that is like this and manage to make few bucks to increase my roll.
At about 4k hands you can see i was going down after i was HU (players left tables) with a short-stacker( 67/67-3hands ) that put me all in from BU with JJ and i call with Ak.Of course didnt catch anything and lost 1$ .It looks a littel spewy when he raise me all in and i was thinking i got good equity agains this range from Bu.Here is the hand

I didnt have the mod to play poker today, but at some point i was thinking lets try some 5NL to see how hard it is.And i open 2 table buy for 100bb and start playing for an hour.LOL off course i lose,i play thinking that everybody bluff me and try to steal my pot so i fight back (stupid move) and i end losing all most 7 $ .Wtf i'm a fish .Look only at my stats and you can see my style change from what i play normaly at 2NL.A think that i saw different from 2NL is that players are f...ing nits or i hit 2 bad tables full of nits.At 2 NL you see 2-3 regs,2-4 player with vpip between 20-30,and 2-5 fishies, but at 5NL 7 were nits and only 2 where more looser than normal. What can i say more than i'm not made for poker.I really start to belive this. All most 2 years and over 600k hands played at 2 NL (mostly because i keep withdrawing money when i was roll for 5NL,but anyway) where i dont have a super big win winrate.Like i said before i didnt want to play for a living, although i will not mind to do this every day,but i was like making some bonus beside salary and for that it should be ok to beat 10NL and make like 300-400$+rake/month and that is very posible for a 10NL player.I saw players that makes over 1K at 10NL.
Ahhhh i will really start thinking to quit poker or at least playing for fun from times to times and not grinding like an idiot 2NL to make a roll for 5NL and then busted,i dont have the discipline for poker,i must accept this and start to make something else to win some extra money.
Here is the stats, graph and a stupid hands that i play

Thanks to everyone how read my topic(even if they dont post, after all what to post at a 2NL topic and to a player who not listen advices)and hope i dont sound to boring and too whiny complaining at every loose i have.......aaaa sorry for my bad english too GL.
