Ok, wondering if someone can help with this.

I'm currently playing in the Pokerplayer magazine (UK) Grand Prix. the series comprimises of 10 x $1,000 freerolls (played every 2nd Monday with double points tourneys every 4th Sunday), culminating in a massive $10,000 Grand Final in London.

heres a link to the site for more info:

http://www3.betfairpoker.com/adhoc/i...399/index.html

FROM THE SITE
After the 10 freeroll qualifiers, the top 32 names on the leaderboard will qualify for the live $10,000 Grand Final along with the 10 freeroll winners and eight PokerPlayers (magazine employees). You’ll then be playing for the coveted PPGP trophy and a $7,000 first prize that consists of entry into three major UK tournaments and coaching from top Betfair pro, Ben Grundy. There’ll also be a $3,000 prize pool for those that make the final table.

Points and payout structure for each freeroll

Position: Prize: Points:
1st: $280 Straight to final
2nd $180 35 points
3rd $100 32pts
4th $75 29pts
5th $60 26pts
6th $50 22pts
7th $40 19pts
8th $30 16pts
9th $20 13pts
10th $15 11pts
11th-20th $10 9pts
21st-30th $5 7pts
>30th $0 5pts

Ok so I finished 7th out of 783 in the 1st tourney and got 19 points, the 2nd tourney I played I didnt make the top 30 but got my 5 points so I now have 24 points and am currently joint 11th on the leaderboard (ThePolecat).

My question is...What are the chances of me qualifying for the live final if I dont make the top 30 in any of the remaining 8 tourneys (there's usully abou 700-800 players each tourney)?

I've worked out that I will have 74 points after all 10 tourneys if I dont finish in the top 30 again. (6 normal tourneys = 30 points, 2 double points tourneys = 20 and my current 24 = 74)

My friend seems to think I just need to turn up to the remaining tourneys and I'm there but i'm unsure.

All help appreciated.

P.S. only 1 person who made the top 30 from the 1st tourney made the top 30 in the 2nd tourney aswell.

i have no clue what your chances are, but im sure someone has some f'ed up algebreic equation to figure it out. just keep playing strong and if you finish in the top 30 in atleast 1 more i think you should be good.

Lol, cool cheers...

I'm hoping to do well in one of the double points tourneys, that should settle it for certain. Was good to get a top 10 start though...

Hopefully someone can work out if i'm "already there"... lol
