Is that a good thing? All the regulars will be everywhere and the fish will still be at 1 or 2 tables. Hopefully there are lots of bad regs. I dunno about this since I only 6 or 8 table anyway

Well at least now I can be on 8 tables with 1 fish each instead of 6 tables with 1 fish each.

playing more than 6 tables of 6-max = -EV in my opinion. In fact I generally play 3 tables and am kept constantly busy making reads and plays on people all the time.

Full ring is another story (you can easily play 5 tables with no HUDs, 6-7 tables with HUDs), but I thought you were a 6-max player.

I mean you can play a lot of tables but your playing abilty goes way down and you play really generic. It kills your profits at 5/10 and higher because those games demand you to make individual reads and plays depending on the specific situation and opponent.

Also in lower stakes you win by mostly sitting and camping and this doesnt require very much active play and so you can play a gazillion tables. At higher stakes to win you must be active and so you have to play fewer tables to win.
BR now: $106900
Playing now: $10/10/20 - $20/40 NL live, $10/20 NL full ring online, $10/20 NL 6-max online, $20/40 FL 6-max online, $100/200 FL live
Goal: $125000 for $25/50 NL live

Thanks for the post.

Yeah I'm starting to realise a lot of this now. Playing fewer tables and making tighter reads is something I really need to practice if I plan on becoming a solid winner at 5/10 and above.

I find though that where I am at the moment solid tag with some varaiations thrown in against the right people works really well. It probably doesn't help further my game much though.

I'm trying to 10 table Party 400NL for the next while and I'll see how it goes.

Been playing Party 600NL the last while. It's a pretty soft game it seems, I haven't really been playing well though. Or playing enough hands. It's been breakeven the last while basically.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (3 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

saw flop|saw showdown

Hero ($901)
Button ($2895.79)
SB ($784.45)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, Q. SB posts a blind of $3.
Button raises to $24, SB (poster) calls $21, Hero raises to $96, Button raises to $270, SB folds, Hero calls $895 (All-In), Button folds.

Final Pot: $1291

Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins $1282.

I think I've completed this operation. I'm not 100% sure and it won't be till tomorrow that I can add up my total bankroll. I won $6k last night and I'm fairly certain that put me over the 75k mark.

Stay tuned.....

OPERATION 75k IS COMPLETE!!!

So I added up my bankroll just there and since the 12th June 2006 when I started this long journey I've earned a total of $83,350!! I never realised it but I was actually already over the 75k mark when I made that $6k the other day. In total I've played over 400k hands at all levels from 100NL to 2000NL. This has been an incredible experience and I've really enjoyed sharing it with everone who reads this thread.

I want to thank everyone for reading and contributing and all the people who have helped me. People on AIM, MSN, Xianti, Tyson, Eric and all the contributers of FTR. I know I couldn't have done it without you.

I'm not really sure what to do now. Bankroll is at around 65k now and I'm deffinitly going to keep playing poker and pushing to improve, play higher and win more. I don't know if I'm going to keep updating this thread. Maybe I should keep using it as a diary of my total poker life and have something huge to look back on in the future or I might just leave it here and keep playing quietly. I'll decide over the next few days I guess.

Anyway, as a thank you, here is a 53min video of me 4 tabling 400NL on Party Poker. Maybe someone would like to watch it and see if they can learn something or maybe teach me something. If it doesn't work you most likely need to download the codec. Also I left in a piece of test video at the start so ignore that please. It's about the first 3mins. It's 136mB. If you have questions or advice about the way I played please post here.

Video: http://hosted.filefront.com/Irisheyesboards

Codec: http://www.techsmith.com/download/codecs.asp

Thanks everyone!

Don't stop posting. maybe a sticky or two about some things you learned. You have played a lot of different stakes and sites. You have a wealth of info. If you don't want to post about your game, maybe post about ours. Your a high roller now, one of the top earners here, nice to see another success.

I watched your video and thought all in all it was pretty solid. It was very comparable to a few of the Cardrunners videos I've watched. It appears you ran pretty well during the course of that particular session, and got paid well when you hit your hands.

It does seem like you didn't have too many difficult decisions to make, and usually when your opponents came at you, you had the goods, which is always nice. On multiple occasions I especially liked how you used reasoning aloud to make decisions, which seemed to be pretty much all good ones.

This is one of the oldest operation threads, along with my own *cough cough!* and I have pretty much lurked through it from the start till now. That is an incredible milestone, and something for all the Operation people to look at. Great job!
Save your stories 'cuz they're all the same..

I watched the first half of your video. The only things I can think of are mostly pre-flop oriented:

1) Raising Axo on the small blind in a battle of the blinds is a leak imo. Sometimes I just call sometimes I fold. Its not that strong of a hand out of position.

2) Raising 22 utg to 4x BB. I personally limp with it or fold. 22 is only good in large multi-way pots or when you have position on 1 person. By raising 4x BB utg you are just creating a large pot out of position, and setting yourself to get 3-bet. Not a good situation imo. Sometimes I also fold 22 utg if the table is very aggressive pre-flop

3) Raising A7o on the cutoff after a limper on the hijack. Again I think this is going to spew more often or not. Just not a strong enough hand to warrent raising. If it was suited I might. But this I just fold.

4) Your opening pre-flop raises are all to 4xBB regardless of position. I think that you should range from 3xBB to 4xBB depending on a number of factors. The further you are out of position (i.e. the closer you are to UTG) the more you should raise. This is because you want to be 1 on 1 generally and there are more people left to act to still when you raise UTG vs. when you raise on the button.

Another thing to consider when raising is what are the odds of being 3-betted pre-flop. If you are dealing with habitual 3-betters (not something you see much at 400 nl or 600 nl, but at a 1000 nl you will see at more and at 2000 nl it is commonplace), I raise to 3xBB on button as opposed to 3.5xBB. A minute difference really but the idea is that I risk less when they 3-bet but if I have a monster (like AA) I tend to get their stack either way. However if the blinds are more passive pre-flop, I try to get them to put more money in. Im still not 100% sure on this concept as ive only figured recently playing a ton 1000 nl 6-max.

I liked your post-flop play a lot. Its very similar to mine.

Thanks a bunch for the post. In response:

1) This is something I've been realising lately. I'm finding myself in tough spots postflop when I raise Ax pf into a decent BB player. I do deffinitly tighten up when I feel the BB is a player who is likely to play back at me. At 400NL this isn't the case very often though so I think in a lot of spots against the majority of players raising and cbetting will be +EV.

2) This is something I've seen Taylor Caby do on cardrunner which made me think. My 1 huge question though is how do you balance this stratagy?

3) I was probably isolating a weak fish. Again, at 400NL the majority of people play back at cbets very poorly. Most of the passive fish will limp/call and c/f the flop all day so I feel it is good to keep punishing them when I'm in position. This won't work so well against the better players but then again they don't limp/call so much.

4) Nice idea. I will def. be trying this in the future.

Thanks again.

I watched the rest of the video.

1) Blind stealing with Axo is ok on the button. I general open-raise with it on the button but fold on the cutoff. I still raise Axs on cutoff as well but generally fold on hijack or worse.

2) I think you should have folded your KT of spades on the river against the trip 6s. I think QT, AQ, Ax of spades, a 6, and a number of other hands make it much more likely he has you beat. I mean I guess he has somewhat aggressive stats so it is a little borderline.

3) I think your a little too worried about not raising certain hands when theres a shortstack around. A lot of those shortstacks arent going to push all-in (at least not until 2000 NL+) but instead will just be a donkey and call. Most of the time though they will still fold (unless they are incrediblhy loose lol).

1) It's pretty marginal. Guess it's ok depending on who is in the blinds.

2) possibly. I'll need to go look at it again.

3) Maybe, I just find I alwaysa have this problem.
