Okay, so I'm basically I'm trying to make it big in poker eventually. I'm 22, and a commerce student @ McMaster university with no ambition of doing much with my degree, but will still go through the schooling just to have it as a back-up.
I was originally going to play poker whilst in school this summer (was enrolled in some summer courses to ease the weight of courses during the year). I decided to drop the second term of summer courses (2 months) and focus directly on poker. So starting today, July 1st, it's full-time until September rolls around and the new school year starts.
A lot of my bankroll has gone towards school and buying a lot of random crap/misc spending, but as of right now as I start this blog, my poker bankroll is:
$4800~ online
$2000~ live
I've already beaten 100NL for about 4K'ish, and plan to beat it for another 3.2-5.2K (depending on when I feel comfortable) to try 200NL.
Live, I plan to go to the casino occasionally when an opportunity arises. Also plan on playing some MTT freezeouts here and there. My main focus will be my online roll.
Specific goals for July:
Make Supernova (23K~ VPP away)
Make at LEAST 3.2K to look into moving up to 200NL. (If Live roll suffers, need to make enough to cover for it as well)
I play 15-tables, and plan to put in 40~ hours a week.

First session of July, played for 6 and a half hours, and clocked 3476 hands. My running hot continues into this month as I ran 21bb/100 today making a little over 7 BI's. I played 2 guarantees in that time and didn't cash in either. Didn't like how I played them, seemed spewy. Both were 50+5's, so my winnings today helped cover for it.
BR: ~5400
VPP left to grind: ~22k
Here's the hand of the session:
No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (4 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
Hero (Button) ($100)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7 , 5
UTG (poster) checks, Hero bets $4, 1 fold, BB calls $3, 1 fold
Flop: ($9.50) 6 , K , 8 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $6, BB calls $6
Turn: ($21.50) A (2 players)
BB bets $6, Hero raises $22, BB calls $16
River: ($65.50) 9 (2 players)
BB bets $26, Hero raises $68 (All-In), BB calls $40 (All-In)
Total pot: $197.50
Results:
Hero had 7 , 5 (straight flush, nine high).
BB had Q , A (flush, Ace high).
Outcome: Hero won $197.50

Had a good day, ran 300 below EV but was still up 4 BI's on the day. Another 3500 hands.
Streak: 9 days

My non-showdown winnings is going straight up. Sometime next week when I get more of a sample, I'll post my graph and stats and let you guys pick away at them, would be nice to have some insight. I've been playing particularly laggy and have been shipping the red line consistently. Not exactly sure what it says about my game or perhaps people just aren't adjusting. We'll see.
Hand of the day:
Villain was a 22/15/2 that was feeling particularly frisky at the time.

Have had 2 sessions since I last updated.
The first session was a train wreck of 1.5k hands where I dropped 8 BI's, dropped all my tables on the spot cuz I was playing bad and running bad.

Cashed out 2000 to pay off some debts so my progress so far:

I've beaten 100NL for I believe 5K+ now, but I don't want all my focus to be online only. I still want a bit of live exposure since we'll eventually need it if we plan to really get anywhere. I do wish I would've moved up to 200NL already though.
Playing a 400+50 live tournament this friday. Biggest tournament I'll ever be in so far with a near 6 digit first place prize I believe. I'll fill you guys in.

Kept paying off AA in bvb wars today. Didn't make much, like 30 bucks or something. I placed 41st in a $55 80k guarantee to help out a bit with the less than impressive session today.
Live session was a giant rollercoaster peaking at about 1500 profit, ended up 300 down. Probably won't shoot live for a while and make sure I make my VPP goal and hit 200NL. I'll play some tourneys if they come by though.

Took some advice from an FTR'er who said I should take a shot at 200NL with a stoploss rule. Figured Friday night would be a good day to do it, and I'm glad I did. Played 3100~ hands over 5 and a half hours and made a bit over 5 BI's. I'll keep at it for saturday and sunday, and if I'm not sitting at 8K'ish, I will drop back down for the week. The VPP's came quick @ 200NL, these three days are going to help out with the VPP's I'm behind on.

Cranked in another 3K hands today. Nothing particularly interesting about today, so instead of a hand, I'll post a graph of my past 3-4 weeks.
You can see where 200NL started by looking at the red line.

Some friends convinced me to play the sunday mil today, figured I'd give it a shot. I figured out I can't play both cash and an MTT without being too tight in cash. Might be -EV to do both for me... I'll look more into it. I placed 425th which paid 550'ish.
Made 1 buyin in cash today, and I think I just might stay at 200NL despite being a little bit under rolled for it. That isn't to say I'm going to neglect 100NL altogether, 200 was a bit dry today and I kinda wished I played some 100.

I'm still alive. After my last update, I finally hit a downswing, with a bit of playing bad. I made supernova in July, so yay me. I haven't been playing too much though.
My BR is sitting at 6.3K+, and I'm a marginal winner at 200NL over the past 30k hands. I might take a swing at 100 for a little bit before I go back up to build a bit of confidence back while I get used to grinding regularly again.
Thanks for the support - everyone who's been following my thread.
Oskar - I'll tell you once I get my head straight.
edit: I suppose I need some goals for the rest of this month before school starts again.
I'm not sure if I want to do a volume goal.. so I'll start with just a $$ goal. I'll change it up if I decide to along the way.
I'm using my 90K VPP's I currently have to buy a TV at the end of this month, so I'll have to withdraw a little bit to fund it and then have it reimbursed through FPP's afterwards. From the 6.3K I currently have, I don't want it to be too modest since I really want something to shoot for. Perhaps 12K is a good mark to hit.
Currently at $6328. $5672 to go.
0/5672 = 0% complete.

Played a bit of 100 today to get a feel for things again, I miss how much easier 100 was than 200. A couple coolers here and there, but still did okay.
Goal: 6% complete.

Made 150 @ 200NL over 5.3k hands, cleared half my bonus, and made like 10k fpps. Long day, ran 800 under EV, couldn't win any flips or anything AI preflop for that matter.
19% complete.

I read a post about "wonderboy" from 2+2 that gave me some serious motivation to continuously improve my game and exercise a calm mental state. My recent sessions have felt great, and I've done a lot of spew-reducing reflection on my game. It's been good so far.
Goal: 44% complete.

So I haven't posted in this thing in forever. Kinda tapered off as I took a 2-3 week break from poker.
Quick update I guess. Playing 6max now, been going great, game is so much more fun and seems like I have a greater edge to exploit opposed to nitring. BR is just shy of 10K, recently started playing 200NL (got doomswitched my first day there (2200 under EV..), but stuck through it and bounced back, recovered all losses, cleared a 1K bonus and then some.
Also played a live tourney ($500+50, 110 players), and placed first. Made just shy of 20K.
Still in school, mid-terms coming up next week, and I'm looking to grind 75K VPP's over the next 3 months. I've been setting aside a routine dedicated to school and poker separately (today's supposed to be for school... lo and behold I'm blogging on FTR lol)
Anyways, once October hits, I'm going to blog regularly again to make sure I stay on track for the 2K milestone.

Alright, time to blog about the new month.
Last months graph:

Going to work on the red line a little bit since I've found my c-bet has been a little bit lower than expected @ 200NL.
6max has been doing me wonders. I'm really enjoying the change from nitring and I think I'll be full-time 6max now. The VPP's are great... the hourly I'm getting from RB alone makes me borderline salivate. Not to mention actual hourly on top of that.
Some goals I've set:
Short-term: Minimum 25K VPP's this month.
Long-term: Hit 400NL by the end of the year+200K VPP milestone.
