Last night's session was the most devastating I've ever had. In the groove, jacked up on a great cappuccino, started out running like shit then hit a nice patch where regs were giving me their money, the fish were plentiful, etc. Then I lost 8 buyins in the last 600 hands. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, it did.

This hand frightens me. During the hand and after the hand I was 100% sure I had AJ and chopped vs the 65/24 whale this hand was played against. Then while reviewing the sessions it says I had KJs??? Very frightening, disturbing, unsettling, etc. Let's just say if I thought I had KJ i wouldn t be shoving river for value lol.

This blog has become the meeting place for depressing self-pity, not a graveyard for fun hands. After hundreds of thousands, probably little over a million, hands of beating low-to high-midstakes, this has become the place where I've met a run sparking a mixture of unspeakable frustration, impatience and disbelief that I didn't think possible. Maybe I'll send it into hibernation until things turn around.

when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

this blog is just a cesspool of negativity. there are virtually no strat considerations in the games I'm playing, and all I do here is whine and rant and attention-whore for poor little run-bad-me.

shutting this down till June 10th.

I'm catching up on FTR and read the last two pages, sick hands. I'm curious though, I don't play in your games and don't even play on any Euro sites but do you feel you perhaps give other players a lack of credit? Like, you're clearly a good player, a good hand reader, you can obviously fold. Do you think you just don't give people enough credit? I dunno, just a random thought I had while reading the last couple of pages. What % of your style do you think is you doing what comes naturally vs being adjusted to the games?

Gl gl gl.

ya dex it s very possible that i don't give people enough credit at the nl100 games i m playing

"not giving enough credit" is a strange way of putting it, since it basically means i think they should be and are bluffing when, in fact, they re not capable of it. so, in a strange way, it s like i m giving them "too much" credit for being thinking players. either way, nl100 is behind me. i m back playing nl200 vs the regs, whose hands i seem to be much better at reading since they are more likely to bluff at weakness. either way, like i said i m gonna hold off on updating until june 10th, the day a promo i m grinding for comes to an end.

the upswing has begun lol, fwiw I think I played particularly well towards the end of the promo I grinded. took a few days off (fri-sun) but back at it tomorrow. the most difficult period in the downswing was (is?) trying to overcome it through sheer effort. my life-happiness has been much better since I started devoting the first few hours of the day to grinding and nothing more :

was traveling and moving into a new place so not much grinding since my little heater. need to get my ass in gear so gonna do a mini 7-day operation before leaving again for a week next monday.

i don t wanna get too greedy and worried about rakeback and bonuses etc, just wanna play good poker. prob gonna aim for something like 16k hands in the next 8 days. updates on the way.

just shipped 7k package to English Poker Open.

Finally, something good to use as momentum. I'll probably sell the package but if it's complicated or I don't find a buyer giving me a good price I'll just hop across the pond and hope for a big score.

BINK

2. rav how did u do in the 1k WCOOP?

rav busted w 30bb s left reshoving JJ and bb woke up w QQ

i sold my seat for 3.3k usd, a little annoying but good to bank 33 bi's at nl100 for a freeroll

also, i had the same thing happen to me as rav tonight (he "accidentally" qualified for the 1k tourney when his satellite ended after the tourney had started) and ran T8s into TT on T84r... i was only playing the satellite for the T$ but was forced to grind out a few hours of donkamenting before the cooler. i was sooo close to folding with no read that villain who raised the flop was at all aggro. buuuuuuuut i had less than 100 bb s and who the fk know how ppl play JJ or QQ etc. bleh.

have been doing fine at nl100 and lowstakes donkaments until tonight (lost about 1k bleh)

gonna experiment with a little 4-day flurry of an operation where I'll just be 4-tabling on a site with slow software (so no volume really) and looking to play super lagg without a HUD, have fun and post some hands.

How do you get all-in so often?

Is it variance with a ton of hands like TT, and AK etc that gotta get all-in pre?

Are you playing lots of very big pots, for marginal value?

2 flush over flushes vs whales, KT ai on KT22 turn vs QJ 200 bb s deep, 56 raise flop, ai on 3452 turn vs 67, AJcc ai on AT3cc vs TT in blind war, top set and mid set AI in plo vs straight draws, flopped flush AI vs top set on KQ7 board, 3 barrel bluff shoved on T52KJ vs bottom set that flatted 2 streets on drawy board...

somehow this happens in 800 hands and i don t win a single one. not really playing high variance at all tbh.
