this will be all sorts. Vids are an obvious candidate, watch 2-3 a week and that's a bunch of study time just there. I am also including session review time as study here. There are a few regs at FT 100nl and 200nl who I have a lot of hands with - but my notes are too long and not useful enough in gametime. So, some reg profiling/tidying up of notes. I will also be recording a subset of my screen occasionally, 6 tables worth I expect, and will set up some teamviewer/skype sweat sessions of these vids via FTR/irc. Better than real time sweats cos of the pause button. Some hand review/discussion. FTR posting on interesting hands. 2+2 history lessons. Specific spots that are frequent but where I haven't spent enough time thinking in detail. First on the list is some broad math on steal/defence spots and lines that I've been meaning to do for a while. Should be fairly simple. And if any of you read my "how to play the small blind at micros" or "playing AQ utg in micros" rambles - I've got a few more topics that I want to spend some time on.

Jyms - re the rakeback/bonus questions. Post away, if the answers are here they become easy to refer other people to. Your comments on stakes are spot on too. I need to discipline my game again, I figure forcing myself to grind out 20buyins a stake through three levels should re-introduce some focus.

A year ago I was regularly clearing $1k a week playing poker. And I had a job at the same time. I should be killing that now, but I'm breaking even. I'm excited about this phase of the davenpoker project. Here's to clearing three stakes in a month!

I've been so busy, having a hard time keeping up with everyones operation, but I notice you are starting from the ground up again.

I think it's a great idea to just step it down and rebuild when things start going sour for an extended period of time.

I'm sure you'll get back to where you were before sooner than you think. Given some time, a few things will click, and next thing you know you'll be making more than you did before.

Good luck, though I'm sure you won't need it given your claim towards dedication.

Hey Daven, good luck with the rebuild. I'll be following this operation with a lot of interest.

Hope you get to where you want to be.

I know you played both Party and FT in the recent past. What is your thoughts on the differences between them as far as bonus, RB and VIP schemes. I am playing on Party right now but planning on a move for the new year and am deciding where to go. I would need to scam a new account for FT RB anyway so I want to know if it's worth going through the trouble. The Euro sites are not as attractive for me being Canadian so my choices are looking like FT, Stars or staying at Party. Party's claims of their VIP system and points purchases equaling 30%+ RB is way over inflated, because of the amount of fish at the BBJ tables and the added rake. My RB by purchasing bonus's with points is equaling about 17%. With all the new Party points, Ironman and Stars VPP programs I need to get an idea about what the differences are equal to in dollars and cents. I need to also get a bit of a clearer picture for the Online poker Rooms Forum as well. What are your thoughts about FT vs Party?

Jyms - I'll post some detailed rb equivalent stuff for FT tomorrow. Without looking closely I'm pretty sure that FT>>Party in normal situations and Party>>FT when you're clearing a reload bonus.

and now for the 10nl rebuild. I'm playing and it's fun. But the games are so weak that I can get away with playing poorly and still win some money. I'm pretty sure 24-18 isn't optimal for 15-tabling Full Ring. Nor do I think that it's particularly good for my game. But it is good for confidence. Maybe tomorrow I'll play a more standard TAG 17-14 style and see if i can crack a decent winrate over 10k hands.

Regardless, today's session put me halfway towards the first move up.... a long split session, summary below:

non-showdown winnings
splashing pots
considering ranges vs aggression on later streets

that should do for now

experimentation is good at stakes where you can afford to lose buyins.
ABC is good.
10nl FR is a good place for abc.
17-14 is profitable there, 22-18 is difficult, I contend that 40-30 is impossible.
It has been fun. And now it is time to grind back up, game is feeling better. I even located the fold button, it was hidden next to the call button, which seemed to be magically highlighted whenever i faced a late street raise...

you want directions to the fold button you dumb fuck? it's not that hard, see that well worn button that is marked :call: ? Glance left a little. See that shiny, brand new, obviously unused button? that's the fold button. You should try it sometime
but
yes, i know that when you press that button you don't get to see villain's cards, and maybe you just got bluffed. I don't care. Are you in poker to make money, or to catch occasional bluffs?
Right, you found the button then? now ffs use it!
Catching up since I've been away a while - this made me lolz - this is EXACTLY my spew-game when I'm tired, distracted or tilting. If had even half the monies back..........

so i took dranger;s advice and got back to basics.
Since then i've been on the grind. I'm 13buyins behind on AIEV over about 13k hands. That leaves me only 7bi up over that period. Grinding at $7/hr = wtf, i'm supposed to be $20/hr at 10nl and moving up fast...

shoving with 15 outs on the flop doesn't seem to be doing much good either

woe is me. 20 buyins behind on AIEV over the last few days. And another few buyins burned on associated tilt - although i'm starting to get better on that front. Oh well, guess that I'm probably a winning player at 10nl if I can still be the black during such a negative variance slamming. Hmm, plan was to be close to back to 50nl by now, taking longer than it should...
