My gf has to finish her thesis draft this weekend so I'm going to be largely unsupervised. So, my target is to play 4,000 hands of no-limit poker.

I usually 3- or 4-table £25 and $50 6max, so, unless I feel cocky and play $100, that's what I'll do ($100 will inevitably strip any profit I make at the lower stakes so it's best avoided I think). I'll post updates here as well as interesting HHs, if I have any.

First session (just after getting up, a short warm-up while the gf is asleep):
Minutes played: 29
$25NL: 62 hands, +$2
$50NL: 42 hands, +$17

gl biondino - you gotta log some real hours though - Last night I started at 5pm, played til 1am and logged in a little over 1500 hands...Had to finish the bonus at Pokerroom - FR too, so you should be getting more than me up 12 buy ins, including the 5 buy ins bonus - woulda been 3 more but i pissed away $70 thinking i was god on a few hands

i'll be over to sun soon...and i'm rolled for 25lb, but will probably start at 25NL anyway, just to get a feel for it...

Fourth session (Sunday morning first thing)
Minutes played: 57
£25NL: 92 hands, +$97
$50NL: 27 hands, +$52

That's more like it. Isn't it amazing how you can turn things around just like that - this morning I have wiped out last night's entire losses in 1/9th of the hands.

The big wins were doubling up with KK vs maniac with QQ, and tripling up (god I love those words) with a set of 7s on a 7T4KA board

Good going mate. Nice to see it evening up.

Enjoyed playing on the same table last night. Even if Mr. Luckbox gave our money away to his fellow fish. He ended up quite in the hole given he was on 6 buy ins at one point.

You were about break-even while I was at your table. (Down $1.54 from the 140 hands we played... oh and you lost $1.55 to me... sos geez... )
Blah blah Op Blah blah

Faith in Jesus Christ is +EV. That is all.

Yeah, that AJ hand above really put the dampeners on the evening. But yeah, it was good playing with you - you sure don't play like a noob

If we assume the sample size has any meaning whatsoever, it seems your PFR is a bit on the small size - you played 27.5/6.5/2.4 last night. But you came out ahead despite Mr Asshole and his bad beat machine, so I think you may have a future at the £25 tables

what were you doing in the first hand? You can't force people to fold, and people NEVER fold boats. Therefore your line is great if you have quads, terrible if you have QQ or less.

I was playing like a complete prick, Midas I must have thought he likely had a lower PP or something. It was terrible, I quickly realised - I wanted to post it here to shame myself not to do it again. As you can see from the next HH, I failed

Fifth Session
Minutes played: 221
£25NL: 900 hands, +$69 (8PTBB/100)

Card dead for a while, and suffered a couple of (short) periods of playing like a donk. Most of my winningest hands came early, so the last three hours were a bit of a thankless grind.

On the plus side, I never got stacked (maybe that's a bad thing, maybe I was missing value), but there's precious little of interest to report - I can't remember a single memorable hand

Oh, yes I can. I also lost 90BBs to this guy's quads when I had KK, but this was the real killer. I played it okay, I think? I wanted him all-in but was still giving him bad odds...

Sixth (and final) session
Minutes played: 145
£25NL: 615 hands, -$15

A disappointing final session - I had kind of hoped to get up to $200, but no luck. I played okay apart from a period of donking off small pots one after another; no disasters, no terrible play in big pots, but very few big wins either. Picked it up after a bad spell but not enough to get back into the black.

Still - it's been fun, sort of, even if 4,000 hands was a bit optimistic. Next weekend I think I might actually get out a bit, try and have a bit of a life. It's likely to cost me more, though

OVERALL STATS
Time played: 13 hours 13 minutes
hands played: 3131 (woo spooky number repetition)
Profit: $75 at 2.6PTBB/100 (such a disappointment - I've been running about 12PTBB/100 for the last 20k hands. Ah well, at least I'm up)

One last post on this thread... I made about $60 in rakeback this weekend. That comes close to doubling my take! To anyone who doesn't think rakeback is worthwhile at low stakes - I hope this proves differently!

Good Job. I'll tell ya, that hand with the set 3's. It's my typical hand of late. Everytime I get a set, either some donk calls over pot sized bets with suited garbage right to the river for my stack and catches or the board comes three to a flush on the turn and when I bet it's folded right back around and no action. It seems that on prima If I raise 5xBB it's either three callers and someone catches their flush with suited garbage or it's folded around. Very difficult site to isolate. But this is how we wish they'd play so maybe it's just me.
