We had a chat room that wasn't really used and nowhere near as popular as IRC.

I'm not sure about other VB forums, but I know chess.com has this kind of chat which is powered by Meebo.
I think this would make FTR a tighter-knit community which, in my belief, is the great selling point of FTR versus a bigger poker site such as 2+2.

problem w/ this if it's facebook style chat will be that it's only 1v1 conversations. I think msn/aim/skype/whatever is fine for that purpose. If it does group discussion then awesome and +1 to the petition.

Pretty much this.
All I'm going to use facebook style chat for is telling boog that he's gay, and I can just as easily do that on IRC. ...Or Facebook chat, for that matter.

But how will I tell people like Bigred and such that THEY'RE gay?
It's a pain in the ass to get someone's AIM just to tell them they're gay.

ya i think it would have to be a group chat thing, and idk how we would incorporate vbulletin logins and all that jazz unless there is a vb plugin for it
