currently the main page contains only NL information. FTR has gained a whole bunch of limit players, and if some of the better players (fnord, mike4066, lonnie, and more) started consolidating some strategies on how to play i think it would be a great addition to the site.
i would do some of that...but i would just be regurgitating SSH by Miller....as i've not played enough to have my own thoughts on how to play.
what do you guys think?

ANY well-written poker material that we agree is solid advice and helpful to visitors (whether they're brand new to poker or have years of experience), we are happy to post and happy to give credit to the author. Any and all submissions will be considered and greatly appreciated.
Hypermegachi, that is a great observation, FTR's forums discuss limit as much as NL, and I am happy to represent some of that off the homepage.
Anyone who's put together material, or interested in doing so, will be forver immortalized with your own web page on FTR. You guys can post the material in this forum (or any other relevant forum, but let us know), and we can convert it to html and put it up.

When I first stumbled on here, you had an essay contest.
Any thoughts about another one? Limit or NL or whatever you want.

I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.

sorry to bump this thread, but i think this is a really good idea that no one ever followed through on. FTR needs some good limit articles!

Says the guy with -1.52 BB/100 earning rate!
I'm actually on the cusp of falling into limit, just need some time to read a little material and I would thourghly appreciate a few essays from the capable limit players of FTR.

This sounds like a good deal. But the only question is where do we start? I'm sure once somebody writes something we'd be able to add on to it.
I, personally, wouldn't know where to begin, but I can list a few subjects that would be good for the beginning limit player to learn:
-Differences between Limit and NL play and Limit and Tournament Play
-The Importance of Position
-Starting Hand Selection
-When to call
-When to fold/know you're beat
-Pot Odds in Limit
-Knowing when you are on a downstreak and the importance of not giving up
-The importance of Poker Tracker
-Reading the board
-Reading other players
-Flop Plays
-Turn Plays
-River Plays
-The best Limit poker sites available
-How to build a BR playing LHE
-The importance of increasing limits
-The importance of the Rake
-Bankroll Management
I'm sure there could be more but these are a few off the top of my head. Also, some could be condensed into more than one article.
I'd volunteer for the "Best Limit poker sites available" and the "how to build a BR" sections.

Ok, well I agree with putting up a ton of limit stuff! We can do an essay contest again. FTR gear up for grabs.
Well, if anyone is interested, get crackin!! We'll come back with more formal details I guess.

I have been trying to implement advice taken from SSHE over the last six weeks, with 0.50/1; 2/4; 3/6 and even 10/20 online and in casinos. It is a radical departure from my normal play and with devastating results. I am down about $500 with absolutely no finishes in the black to show for the effort.
To be fair though, the most moey lost was in hands that finished with beats by flushes to A hi straights (usually runner runner) and beat by flushes to trips (also runner runner); and three very memorable hands that lost boats to a larger boats! All AA; KK; QQ were beaten to folks slow playing smaller trips (no pair showing) against my preflop/post flop raises and reraises (I don't slow play dominating starting hands) .
That's poker!
