FACT: We keep getting commercial posts in the forums.
While commercial post are irritating, I am (and I'm sure others) ocassionally looking for just this info.
How about (if it is even possible) having a "quarantined" commercial post area where forum posts decay after a while, say two weeks or a month?
We just got some enthusiastic crap P-k--Of--c- post in Tool of Poker from a 1st time poster. If there was an area where it was OK for him to post, and the post cleaned itself up after a time, that would make sense to me. Boony and Trips (and whoeverelse) could carry on Casino whoring (and whateverelse) without looking over their shoulders, or without FTR appearing to have a double standard, or even having to police it. If you/FTR thought it was beneficial, or if the post is from an approved FTR-er, or doesn't compete with FTR affiliates, perhaps the post could be sticki-fied, and not decay?
Xanti, you may even want this as a poll, but this Feedback section doesn't get much regular traffic, does it?
Just an idea.

I don't want to give spammers reason to post here.

They do anyway, and you have to clean it up. BTW -- "Spill on Tools aisle!" Oh, I guess you already got it - nice!

They'll still post in other forums and we'll still have to move the threads. I don't want the threads to be public. F*ck them spammers.

Hey 'rilla -- what happens to the excised solicitation posts? I've seen links in FTR that supposedly lead to soliciting posts, but appear to be gone. Are they gone-gone? Or are they blanked out somehow? Just curious.

I agree with 'rilla. We want to keep our forum "commercial-free."
Except for our own commercials, of course.
If people want a forum that has a spam section, there are plenty of other poker forums out there that cater to soliciting.
