In situtaions where an early position raise of 3/4xBB happens and it's to you with 3-4 limpers and you're in later postions 1+/- of CO.
I don't know how +EV this move is:
I've acutally been doing it lately with the sole purpose of repping a flopped hand when there's a flush draw by betting around pot-sized. What I'm looking for is a suited connector to make his hand on turn / river and come over the top.
Between the folds and the lower flushes, it's been OK for me.. Maybe just been running good, though.
The questions I'm looking for answers for are:
1) Would you limp in with ace/junk sooted?
2) Would you bet if checked around to you on flop and you're one to a flush? How much?
3) Would you call a pot-sized bet here.. aka "chasing" if one to a flush?
Again - My intention has been to get a suited connector to think he's caught and blown out my TPTK / 2pr / set that I can't lay down when a flush comes. Also - it seems like a great semi-bluff opportunity.
Why I posted this?
Because I feel like a guilty fish playing ace / junk suited, plain and simple. It has no other value to me besides flushing. It's not something I'd done because the odds of a flopped flush is pretty far off and the odds of someone holding the same suit also seems low, but it's been working since I tried it and stuck to my guns.
In general what are some ace / junk suited opinions and strategies?
Thanks FTR. Longtime lurker and I'd reaped the rewards of all of your hard work and dedication to the game.

D-Sect,
Check out the last 3 paragraphs of the http://www.flopturnriver.com/essays_...p_group_6.html page.
I like to play Ax suited from late position if I can see the flop for cheap. I look at the stacks involved to make sure they have enough chips to pay me off if I get the nut flush.

I'll always limp with Axs from mid or late, and from early on a weak table. Hitting the nut flush with it can give you 50xBB profit with no difficulty at all (especially when some0one has a king-high flush, hehe), so it pays for itself AS LONG AS you don't get all gung ho when an ace flops and you end up dropping half a buy-in to some fool with AJo.

25NL/PL player.
What biondino said. For a limp I play it from any position, unless there is a real frequent preflop raiser still to act. If two of my suit arrive I'll usually bet out, hope for a fold, and know I have outs and don't look as much like I'm drawing (to the fish, anyway). If I hit the pot will be that much bigger.

AXs is a stealing hand for me. I'll raise it from LP with one weak limper. I'll also either raise it or limp with it against the blinds and make a continuation bet. It really has little value multiway since the A is usually dominated and the odds of making the flush are very small with not great implied odds. In the order of preference for hands strength: big pkts, big overs, medium pkts, suited connectors, AXs

This is your answer. Especially the implied odds portion. You WILL lose money playing these hands for a raise. Throw suited cards away for preflop raises.

I like Ax on a limped pot, but drop it to a 4x raise from early position.

I play it much the same as listed in the Group 6 paragraph. It is not worth a lot for flush value because flushes rarely hit and when they do they don’t often pay off big. I do find that I pick up a lot of very small pots when an A falls and nobody has an A. If I am not in LAST position on an A high flop I check. If anyone bets I evaluate if they are betting the A or not.
I don't play it to ANY raise.

Is there any reason A-small suited is a worse hand to play than J10s? They seem pretty similar to me, I realize J10 has more straight possibilities...
