ok, we've all seen this before. some donk calls your shove with Q4o and HITS a big hand. he seems to be luckboxing his way to a big stack, or the final table, depending on whether you play ring or tourneys. it doesnt matter; this guy is everywhere...and, he always seems to make everything you read about poker and strategy look like folly. your frustrations build and, whether you recognize it or not, you start to tilt.
rest assured this guy is NOT.....i repeat NOT.....a winning player. you are only looking at an incredibly small sample size of his history where he is getting lucky. that's where this story begins. here is the hand in a SNG. he didnt need to push here by any means...
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $3.00+$0.40 Tournament, 25/50 Blinds (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
Button (t1301)
SB (t3100)
UBERFISHY (BB) (t749)
UTG (t2770)
UTG+1 (t395)
MP1 (t1455)
MP2 (t3775)
CO (t1455)
Preflop:
1 fold, UTG+1 bets t100, 4 folds, SB calls t75, UBERFISHY raises to t749 (All-In), UTG+1 calls t295 (All-In), 1 fold
Flop: (t890) Q , 10 , 10 (2 players, 2 all-in)
Turn: (t890) 2 (2 players, 2 all-in)
River: (t890) 5 (2 players, 2 all-in)
Total pot: t890
Results:
UBERFISHY had Q , 4 (two pair, Queens and tens).
UTG+1 had A , J (one pair, tens).
Outcome: UBERFISHY won t890
now, for the story/proof...
another "friend" of mine was doing something rather silly, imo. he was selling transfers on eBay for a marked up price. UBERFISHY (not his real name) has been a repeat customer. we think he uses paypal to fund his poker because he is either a complete degenerate, or doesnt want his wife to find the deposit in his check register. but, whatever. the point is we wondered how someone could lose so quickly and keep coming back for more. so, we started following him in the search feature and watching him....hell, we should have jumped on his tables...lol. well, its hands like these that prove he is "one of THOSE guys."
here is a screenshot of his graph...

anyway, the point is: when you see these guys running hot and taking your money, dont get to discouraged. they arent playing correctly, just as you thought, and they just keep running back and forth to their sugar daddy for more and more and more. the money is literally falling out of their pockets. they dont have any variance (to the positive side), their graphs are mainly straight down, and they certainly dont have a clue about poker. (truthfully, this pisses me off at the UIGEA even more)
i am trying to prove to you, once and for all, that when this guy stacks you, it is a lucky night for him.....thats it. nothing more, nothing less. dont get discouraged. just realize that he will be back to give you some money later. in fact, you should put him on your buddy list and let him stack you with these hands for the rest of your career. i guarantee you that you will make more off of him than he EVER makes off of you.
happy grinding!

there's no way to check who you are selling to, and how old they are...for one.

Nothing wrong with selling money to a minor.
His choice to use it somewhere it is clearly, and expressedly forbidden is his.
Wish I had the smarts to mark up a transfer and sell it.

i promise you it happened. I made the transfer for my friend. he was at work, and asked me to ship the monies. his "ad" got pulled after 3 days for the reason i gave.
there is another person doing the same thing. that's how my friend got the idea. you may not be looking in the right places.

np, rags. nah, i'm not back to NL. i still play LHE. the super-grind is SNGs, for me.
the disappearance is because the grass is growing again, and my "day job" pays better than my "offseason 'job'." lol.
