So I get a bonus and decide to play only to discover that the software is now total garbage. Its taking up between 92-99% of my CPU and when PT starts autoimporting hands I can hardly even move my mouse and get timed out from almost every table.
So could you people please tell me how you manage to play more than two tables on this piece of shit software?

Puhhh just finished...so I am paying monster rake on software that is a huge resourse hog and the players don't suck anymore than at any other poker sites. Now why do people play there at all? This is a freaking mystery to me.
Terrytoma, I am not going to bore you with the details, but my computer should be more than powerful enough to show a few 2d cards dealt out every now and again...

Whats it have for memory though? With 1gb of meory I dont really have many slowdowns unless Ive been multitabling for hours on end, but typically its fine.
People play at party because there are so many players there and active tables at all stakes. Even if the average party fish is better, the sheer volume of tables makes up for that if you practice good game selection.

It has 1 GB memory. My laptop has 2GB, so maybe when playing on Party I should use it instead....

Hmmm, thats weird it should be fine, I have heard that the monster jackpot slider is really memory intensive.
Download autohotkey and then install this script to get rid of that:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...ge=0&fpart=all
Id also recommend downloading a monotone card table mod from pokermods.com:
http://www.pokermods.com/mods/
See if those things make a difference.

I play on party cause of the mass volume of players. and i play 2 tables with never a slow down, that inludes monitoring software running as well. I have a 3 year old P4 2.8 Ghz running at 3.2Ghz with 1 Gig of ram

I play 6-8 tables, I also think that my PT database is getting a bit too big, the imports are a lot slower than they used to be.

Yea, after hearing that your database is big I think that could also be a big problem. Have you converted it to PostgreSQL yet? If not, that is a must and will give you immediate results.
Also, for anybody who is into computers, has anybody used 2 Raptors in RAID to store their PT database on? I think that would have huge performance increases , but I want to make sure its noticeable before I shell out the money for it.

Yeah that should be enough. Of course I was playing NL50 which doesnt have monster. And I recently reset my database due to having a new computer, and being too lazy to figure out how to merge it with my 2 old computer's DB.
