Brief summary of hand
Dealt KK UTG+2 and raised 4xBB (very tight table and this normally folded all but one or two players) - all fold but small blind calls and big blind calls.
Flop comes J/4/9 rainbow and I bet 6xBB. Small blind folds and BB reraises me another 6xBB. I'm thinking maybe J/9 and he hit 2 pair but he hopefully wouldn't call a 4xBB raise with that preflop. Also considered JJ. I call. 4th street is a Q. I bet and he raises me again.
By now I'm a little scared. My read on him was that he was LAG so I didn't put him on a really good hand. This is where I considered laying it down thinking he may have had JJ, QQ or AA. Would you lay this down? Or any advice besides lay it down?
Results were that I went all in and he had AA and I lost my buyin. But I look at it and think I didn't play anything wrong except to listen to my little voice saying he has AA.

Withhold results for better responses...
Turn card sucks. There's a lot of hands he could have on the flop based on your read and his actions... the ones that beat you after the turn are J9 suited, JJ, QQ, AA, T8 suited, 44, 99, QJ. The ones that don't are QT, KJ, AJ, JT. The turn card helps a couple of his possible hands and doesn't improve you. Based on his check-raise on the flop - I'm assuming he checked to you again on the turn - I probably check behind and call any reasonable bet on the river. Cheap showdown time. The only problem with this is that you do miss some value against a few of his potential holdings, and give a free card to a hand like JT or QT.

Fold to the turn cr. I also don't mind checking behind sometimes, but I would probably bet here most of the time. Also, bet more on the flop, 3/4 pot at least. How much was your turn bet, and how much did he cr you?

I'm thinking maybe J/9 and he hit 2 pair but, if he is going to call my EP raises with that garbage OOP, that would be absolutely fantastic

Fold the turn...you are playing catchup. How deep do you want to play with an overpair? Save your dough for a better situation.

Lesson learned. He could have had any of these and still beat me but I just put him on a high pocket pair due to calling the preflop raise. I'm now thinking what if I hadn't been the first to act and just let him bet instead of betting into him.
Come to think of it, the exact opposite could have happened the same way - he was really overcommitting to his AA when I obviously had a strong hand - I could have just as easily had QQ or JJ too. After I went all-in, would you consider laying down AA if you had it?
Stupid all-in. Something to put in my bank and keep working on. Thanks to everyone for your advice, even the obvious duh stuff.

Well my idea would have worked here (check below)
Bet Turn fold to reraise.

I would have bet more on the flop. Say 80% of the pot. When he raised me minimum raises as he did with you. I would reraise a little more than the minimum. If he comes over the top of me I throw it away. I try to figure it out before the turn.

so you got check raised twice in a row? You should be very suspicious at this point.
My line is to 3bet the flop. So the pot is ~$10bb. I lead for 6bb, I get c/red to 12bb, my raise will be to about 19-21xbb. If he raises over the top of this, or even calls, I would concider this pot a lost cause, because he probably has me killed. Like the guy said before me, try to find out where you stand on the flop.
