Been surfing around here for a long time, enjoy it a lot. Seems to many solid players here and Im a little curious; who are the best players on these boards? Seems to me guys like Pingvini, Ilikeaces86, Possesed and Michael1123 are making the big bucks around here? In general, are the NL players the most profitable around here? How bout the limit players?

Good limit players make big money consistently it just doesn't come in huge gobs at a time. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that they do the best money wise.

I can rake in about $10/hr quadtabling the 25nl. I honestly don't think anyone holds a candle to that.

The best player may not equal the biggest money winner. If some guy making 10BB/100 plays 100hrs a week - is he bettter than somebody making 20BB/100 playing 40hrs a week at the same limit?
You should focus on making yourself better rather than trying to start an argument thread. There are lots of good players on here at different levels and games. Most of them focus on their own improvement.

Crap - maybe I need to start doing that rather than focusing on improving others.

So what you are saying is that the FL-players have a more "safe and steady" daily income compared to the NL-players? How bout tournament players? I know MTT's are swingy but shouldnt Sit&Go be one of the safest ways to constant cash flow? I think this subjet is of interest and are not looking to cause an argument wich someone expressed. It's just out of curiosity, but if it will offend people that others speculate (wich it really shouldn't since this is a forum where people post hand hists, strats and talk about their results openly) I apologize.

I don't think anyone can make a truly consistant living from MTTs, especially online ones. With the speed of the online structure, a perfect player only gains a few percent of edge over anyone else.
And as for MTTs in general, even some pro players can go months to a year without final tabling. I think Doyle Brunson has achieved downswings of this magnitude before.
As for making a consistant living from SNGs, you can only do that if you are one of the human pokerbots that can 8-10-12 table then effectively.

there are pro online players who solely play mtts.
My comments on limit players was solely based on what I feel is a misnomer that limit is not a money making enterprise. The consesus seems to be that playing NL ring or SNGs will make you more money. I disagree.
I think you can make real good money playing any game. However, can and actually doing are two different things. You need to be an elite player at any of these games to do really well. Every game has edges that the vast majority of players simply do not know how to take advantage of - it is these elite players at each game who consistently take these advantages that do so well. And there are players at every game who are doing this.

This is true. However a very high percentage of them smooth over the dark months by massively multitabling SNGs and high stakes ring.

I could be wrong but I doubt it. I'm pretty sure I know who made the most money last year from FTR and he plays tournaments. As far as being the best player on the site, I really think this is probably him too. I don't say that because of the amount of money he has made, I say it because hes been playing seriously for like 15 years and that is way more than probably anyone here. His experience alone is matched by no one.
