Today I feel like I am starting to understand poker. about time. Something about a few things that have been posted the last couple of days has finally got through to me.
I had a quick flick through the forums to try and figure out what made things make sense. Who knows? hope this helps someone - and thanks!!!

combine the poker revelations from the lines quoted above with some decent cards, and here has what happened since I made this post... nice weekend imo - still running behind EV on all-in pots tho

Remember HEM actually shows big blinds per 100, not big bets like PT does. So thats the equivalent of 5.9 ptbb/100 which is a good solid winrate without being extraordinary. Looks like solid play rather than running good to me. Nice work Daven.

A big bet is twice the big blind. A ptbb is a big bet, which is twice the big blind. The reason for the standard is that Poker Tracker was originally made for limit hold'em, which typically measures it's winrate in terms of the big bet, not the big blind, and so ptbb literally means Poker Tracker Big Bet to distinguish itself from bb which is big blind.
I hope my explanation clears that up for you.

Most FTR regs seem to think in terms of ptbb/100 which is also...
Big Bets / 100 , or
2x Big Blind / 100

yeah i wish everyone just used big blinds but the standard is Big Bets now so I have just configured HEM to show that instead.
Hopefully the standard will change over time because it's a bit nonsensical in no limit.

another week since the revelations, started running meh at 50nl so i moved up... reported in ptBB/100 to keep everyone happy. I'm generating a bunch of rake(back)

not getting enough hands in... played 3hrs in the last five days.
those whispered words are starting to sink in though - and when I look at the rake generated and consider that i get about 30% of it back, well, i like how it feels.
I've been a little disconcerted of late that some of the higher volume regs have been calling me daven in chat - means that they've found me here on FTR...
