I was wondering what are people's perspective of this. I play live a lot and I thought that it would interfere with my live game. Maybe I could just use voluntary put money in pot, since I could always keep track of that when playing a live game.

Personally in a game of incomplete information, such as poker, I like to take any and all information I can. A HUD is added information that I have available to me if I need it. Doesn't mean I have to use it while it's on, but if I need to, I know how and can.

The thing is that online there are many other players who are using one and that will put you at a disadvantage.

If your learning the game don't bother with a HUD, focus on your hand, chip stacks, bet sizes, action etc...
Once you've play a shit load of hands and you understand position, pot sizing then you should add a HUD.
Also you should only be 1 tabling while learning, paying attention to all the hands, not just the ones your in. If you do Multi-table a HUD is essential as you wont have any reads and can play based on the stats you have.

I struggle with 4 without a hud, in fact, 2 or 3 is the max I can concentrate on if |I need to get reads.

Do we seriously have to open a thread on this every week? I mean this hadn't even dropped off the front page.

you're still getting reads when you're 4 tabling regardless of whether or not you have a HUD running

In pertaining to this post. Ive heard alot about these HUD's recently and am somewhat intrigued by them. Anyone know a good one i can look at. I play 4-5 tables all the time and its sometimes hard to keep players betting habits and such straight.

There is no reason not to as it gives you an advantage.

huds don't actually give you much information on "habits" of other players

I think it really helps know who to avoid and who you want to play with at extreme levels such as a very Tight player or a very loose player.

Correct, but it does help you learn your opponents general tendencies. Say your opponent is a 10/8, you know he is a nit and folds too much, however what you don't know is what hands he has a habit of folding that he should not. That is where paying attention comes into play.
Can we please drop these threads... lol, these are getting old...

well the programs most people use are holdem manager or poker tracker, both of which have free trials. I'm not sure if you're asking what program we use, or what stats we have on our HUD's though.
