To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

let it go, man.
heres an example of a hand for my opponent that is the opposite. probably profitable in the long run, but cost him a stack in this instance.
this is the real danger of giving your strength away oop. i KNEW with his backraise and subsequent flat call preflop that he had KK. there was a small chance that also had AA, and an even smaller one that he held QQ. but i was nearly certain it was kings. normally, youd have to be concerned about a set of jacks in this spot, but because of the 'freedom of information act', i could progress unchecked. if youre KK, at what point do you become concerned?

You know in many ways Big Boy has never left he's always served the same high quality meals at competitive prices. Discuss?

Whats the point of the thread?
As for the hand, why check raise if your going to do it so freaking weak!?
If I where KK, I would be concerned preflop.

the point of this thread is the continuing pettiness sometimes seen on this site. but im hijacking it.
i think the 'checkraise' was more of a situation that he wanted to see what i would do on the turn. once he saw that i pot-committed myself, and he decided to stick with his hand, he just put it all in there. im thinking if i bet a smaller amount he was just calling it down. which is dumb.
where do you fold with KK? i think you need to call pf. my flop bet is designed pretty well, so i flatter myself into thinking that hes calling there as well. but turn, you could conceivably get away.

Who's Bigboy?
Nice hand. I think the best opportunity to get away is the pot sized turn bet. He's only invested $50, I can see not pushing another $180 after the 3-bet preflop action.

OH! you meant the preflop checkraise. thats a backraise, not a checkraise. anyway, yes.
i dont know. i suppose he was using the min re-raise as a pot-builder, since he couldnt possibly hope that either i OR the BB was going to fold for another 5$.
i would only run a backraise here if i was fairly certain that the initial raiser was on an AK sort of hand. and youre right, you want to make it bigger because, if you are KK vs AK, preflop is really the only time to make money on the hand (barring the case K flopping). either he makes an ace, which kills the hand, or he doesnt and he folds (unrealistic to expect AK to c-bet a missed flop given this preflop action)
good point.

what does this mean?
did you click on the 'cheat at hold em' ad up above or something?
anyways, nh. maybe you'd articulate your thinking on the flop bet ?
if you're pretty sure its KK, are you intent on keeping him until the turn and then pounding it? are you tryng to induce a raise on the flop?
i ask because it generally seems strange (to me) when the PF aggressor bets less on the flop than the size of the last PF raise (in this case $32)...

i just felt like he gave his hand away to me, and it was one of those special moments where you just KNOW you have you opponent at your mercy because theyre stong but youre stronger.
flop. firstly, my pf raise was $20, so betting out 25$ was not necessarily 'going backwards'. but youre right, it can be/should be? a warning flag.
at this point, i assume that my opponent has to believe that i have either AA, QQ (or KK, if HE has QQ) or AKs. because i have the lead, i really need to bet out here because a check would be even more suspicious. i thought that betting out 1/3 of the pot would be a normal continuation-ish sized bet, to help him think i was more toward AK. i really thought that by showing weakness he would checkraise me here.
but im not going to make a bigger bet ie 3/4 pot that will inspire him to make a great laydown.
