I know I might regret asking the following question of the same people who have been regularly kicking my ass this week, but here it goes anyway:

I play micro SNG on Bodog primarily, but also a little limit micro as well. There are times that I am doing pretty good for myself, and I should, as my Holdem Indicator screen is spilling over with little fish icons. Then, on a different day, and a different time, I join a table and after 30 hands, the VPIP% is like 26, and the AF is 1.8. I know these aren't optimal, but they are indicative of a much tighter, much more aggressive table that what I find at other times.

Are there days, or are there times, when most of the people I run into are going to be grinders and FTR/2+2/etc. experts that are going to eat my lunch? Again, you are said grinders and experts, and I don't expect you to willingly tell me how to avoid your traps, but I am trying to get all this in my brain, and trying not to tilt cause I am getting violated by champs is not the best way for me to learn.

Any thoughts?

Bodog has a lot of US players. You're going to find good and bad players at all times, but the fish swim more in the evening. Your best bet is to play during high-traffic times and concentrate on good table selection. There is an excellent article about table selection on this site. Go to Poker Strategy at the top and look for Table Selection Strategy.

Sites with north americans are best during the night when the drunken gambling crowd is out. Same with euro sites, just do your timezone conversion.

I figured morality types would love us sober folks exploiting the drunkards as a way to instill chastity, discipline and sobriety in them.

Thanks for the comments!

I've always done better on Bodog on weekday evenings. For some reason, the drunks on Friday and Saturday night tend to take my money and give it to somebody else.

For the micros, play when you feel good/ feel like playing. People in the micro sng's suck at all times of the day and all times of the week.
I damage threads that may actually benefit some posters

I'd say at those levels u will win anytime.
U'll just need to adjust to the mood of the table, but i wouldn't think there are a lot of grinders/table at any time at those stakes.
Conversely, if you see your style performs much better at certain types of tables than others... pay attention to table selection (outside the SnGs)
"could I take out every woman and child in a border town?"
For the right to be governed, waste them without mercy.
When you've decided. Meet me at the airport.

one good thing to notice as you are playing at vairious times is the number of total people and/or tables open at that time. After a few sessions you will know when the site is "jumping with people" and therefore there will be more fish around.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

Agreed. When I started grinding a bankroll at the micros, there wasn't many players I was weary of. I just played a straightforward TAGG style and only bluffed players who could be bluffed.

But regardless of FR/SH or SNG, playing when the traffic is high is your best bet.

Well whenever you DON'T see me at the micro tables on BODOG it's safe to sit down. I'm just kidding. I play bodog daily. But I hear ya on this topic, and wanted to comment and say that I find the sit n gos to be profitable during the day, and around 1am-4am the 10max cash games are where I find alot of donkeys. (whether they are drunk or too tired) I tend to be more alert at the later times because of my work schedule so it works fairly well for me.
