Hm, don't know if I should post this in "Pokertools" or "NL Strategies" since the question is NL-specific. Feel free to move ...

Since most of us use PT and PAHUD, I wonder what stats you are displaying at your table.

I played limit for a long time now, so I am a complete NL-Noob having no idea which stats are useful. Currently I'm displaying "VPIP/PFR/Hands" and "CC Preflop/Fold to C-Bet/Fold Flop/Fold Turn/Fold River" as combined stats, so it looks like this:

What do you like to see first when you are looking at your PA?

Miffed hates HUDs, ignore him

I have on my HUD... PFR, VPIP, hands, PFA factor, c-bet, folds to c-bet, WTSD%, att to steal blinds, folds SB to steal, folds BB to steal, cold call. It's a lot, but I my HUD.

Miff is old school and believes that until you have played a large number of hands at poker, without a HUD, and have learnt 'a feel' for how players play from actually watching the table you shouldnt be using a HUD because so many players now post a persons stats and make a play from those stats, determing their decision on that rather than from what you have learnt from a player.

its an arguement that pops up everytime, and while i wouldnt play a game of limit online without a HUD, in NL there are so many more variables that you shouldnt be playing small stakes games from HUDs because you miss out on learning fundamental skills that are just '6th sense' things that cant be taught from reading HH's etc

I certainly wouldnt sit at 400nl without a HUD and stats, and a lot of 200nl games require you to have it too, but i think you should be beating 100nl without it because you need to develop skills without the HUD

But thats certainlymy two cents, and other will tell m how good their HUD makes them. Afterall, poker isnt about making big folds and thats what reads mostly allow you to do.

I don't use one basically for this reason. I want to be able to beat the low games I play based on my mind. While I'm building up stakes I need to test myself this way I believe. If I can't beat the micro's this way I probably should quit
I started a new job so don't play much ATM, just FTP mini grind

I agree with you there, I find it strange when people's "reads" are "25/15/2". I don't think there's any excuse for having no reads 'cept for numbers unless you're playing 5+ tables.

When you are playing 6 tables at a time (like I do) you love your HUD.
The secret to success in poker is to rig the odds in your favor.

HUD + notes is the way to go.

Taking good notes and having a decent memory for the situations people have done X in (and what theyve seen you do) = $$$
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

I play shorthanded nl 400 without hud and doing fine. But I only play 3 tables at once.

I've tried to use it a few times but those numbers screwed with my reads left and right. What it came down to was that my reads where way better without the numbers.

I'm using #hands, PFR%, VPIP%, Cbet%, Flop -> Turn% and Turn -> River %.

I'm using Poker Office, not that I think it matters when it comes to my answer, but oh well.
