It is a live game. Head-up. You hold a 10 and a 6. Blinds are in. Check. Here comes the FLOP.
The flop is dealt. You hit your 10 and 6, the other card is an 7. Two of the cards on the flop are suited (You do not have a flush draw or anything, just top pair and low pair.)
You are first to act. Would you make a slight bet, raise, or check? Would you slowplay it? What would you do?
I was shortstacked. Blinds were 50/100. I bet out 1000 and was called. Turn card is dealt. It does not help and it is a two. I continue betting. River is dealt. Another 7. Now I have a pair of 7's on the board and my original pair of tens. The opponent raises, I go all in. I loose to a flush.
The main question I have is this: On the flop, as soon as I hit the two pair, should I have raised more? 1000 was not much of my opponents chip stack at all, and I knew he would call, but I was trying to slow play it cause I was almost sure I would have the nuts. Had I raised a more adequate amount, perhaps he would have folded, or called, in which case I could have raised more on the turn tog et him out. Should I have gone that route? Should I have just bet the minimum? What would you do?

Your river play was bad. Your 2 pair is now counterfeitted and all you have is top pair with no kicker.
Not a great hand to go all in with.
Your explanation of the hand is also bad. when did the third flush card come?
How big was the pot preflop?

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

Preflop all that was in was blinds. I cannot exactly remember when the flush was made, but that is irrelevant. Basically I am most curious to know what I should have done on the FLOP, before any flush was made, when I knew I had the nuts. His pocket cards were suited, so if I was to guess I'd say the flop probably made him a 3rd suit (one card matching his suit on flop).

Push on the turn. River is a crying call/fold.
Turn pot seems big enough to take it down as you have a vunerable hand.
Also, this is NOT the type of board to EVER slow play two pair with. Someone once said to never slowplay on a hand that can be beat with one card (slowplay when they need two cards to beat you). The only time I'd slowplay on this board with that hand is if you have a VERY aggressive player who you know will bet... that's the only time on this board I'd do a check/raise... but its VERY risky to give a free card.

I think you should have pushed the turn if the flush was not made on the turn.
On the river chances are you are beat when he bets after calling all the way, he either hit the flush or trips

If you are short stacked you need to make a hefty bet on the flop or push in my opinion depending upon the style of your opponent. If you didn't push flop and make it to the turn, push like everyone else is saying.

Alternative if you like:
You could get to the turn and river cheaply and hope to hit a boat and that they hit their flush/str8. Then pump it up. It's an easy hand to get away from when you meet aggression or you don't hit. The reason I mention you could play it passively is because they could have a better hand already (str8) and you won't bet them off the hand anyway.

You did not have the nuts. The nuts is the best possible hand at that given moment. Maybe you thought you had the best hand of the players in the pot? Maybe, but it was not the nuts. The nuts on the flop was 89 for a straight.
