So alright ive played poker for a lil over a year and didnt know jack at the game. Well i played for my first time and got Begginers Luck and got hooked so i started playing every weekend. Well i listened to Aok theory of the 19 hands and did just that well i got into a tournament after reading that and i started using it, well i was folding, folding, and folding and found myself with a short stack. Well i finally got J9 suited and thought hell im down and out anyways why dont i so i go all in.

Well then i win the pot and get 25 dollars out of it. Then i thought his idea is great but you got to play more cards than just 19. Well i won that tournament that night and another one the next night for like 90 dollars well now i find myself at points down so bad that i cant dig myself back up to the chip lead or anything....im continously losing and its really making me sick. Then i play some other cards than the 19 aok told me....its just pissing me off.....any comments.

19 hand holdem is not for tournament play. I'm sorry if I gave you that impression. 19 hands is for low stake NL ring.

Probably not using search very well.

Just click on forum search. Enter search keywords "19 hands" and make sure you click "search for all terms" so you don't get every post with the number 19 somewhere.

That will get you a lot of posts; you want to narrow it down a little. You know it's by AOK so write his name in the author field: "aokrongly".

Among the first dozen posts you should see one titled "19 starting hands?" which is a commonly cited thread which has all you need to know.

It's this one: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ic.php?t=26429

Sorry about the Pm, I haven't gotten around to it yet. Due to copyright issues (re the book) I took the full text of 19 hand off the public forum. I was going to PM it back to you. I will. Just give me a minute.

My tournament and SNG structure is based on Harrington on Holdem. I have a chart I use for starting hands based on position, action, cards. There's alot more to it than starting hands, but that will at least get you in the right situations with the right bets/raises preflop. I strongly recommend reading HOH I for everyone. I think HOH II gets a little technical with M values etc, but it's good too.

pm me your email address and I'll shoot you the HOH chart I use. (I've offered this before.)

(and again, I will not necessarily get it to you the same day. Sometimes it takes a while for me to get around to responding to some of the things I get.)
