You hear a lot about people's favorite hands, usually because they flopped some miracle boat/flush/straight with them one time after four people called when they tried to buy the blinds and strung them along all the way to the river before turning over the nuts. One of my friends was attached to J5s in diamonds because of this reason and would play it always.

But I think least favorite hands are far more interesting and there would be more of a consensus.

My least favorite hands are AKs, 99 and JT, suited or not.

AKs, because like AKo it is so beatable and playable, but fools you even more because of the extra chance you have for the flush.

99 just sucks and I seem to get dealt it a disproportionate amount of times.

JT I don't like even though I should because I make money off it.

TT is the bomb.

Second highest earner behind AA for me at NL100 =)

My least favourite hand is probably QQ if we're talking about the big hands. It's a big pair, so it's hard to get away from, but I am actually losing money with it at the moment. Keeps getting destroyed when an A or K turns or rivers

Any hand that is marginal for its position (AQ utg, AJ MP, KJ LP, that kind of thing). Ditto sexy SCs in EP or MP - if they'd just come a couple of hands earlier I'd be lovin' it, but as it stands I can't really justify playing them.

AK sooted and KQ sooted. Always lose big pots and win small pots with them...but AKos is very profitable for me and KQos is profitable also. Bottom line is that I always miss my flush/str8/overcard draw with AKs and KQs. I bet them like made hands and get called down and lose... Ironically, many of the hands you all just nominated are in my top 10 (after 30k hands): KJs, JJ, TT, 99, JTs. Go figure...

Lower pockets (22-66). I almost never hit a set it seems. I checked my last 8.5k hands and it confirmed my suspicion.. 22-66 are all losers. I'm probably gonna start playing them more aggressively.

I don't like AA/KK very much, even though they are the obvious money makers. It's always so tilting to lose KKvsAA or see your rockets cracked.. there was a time this happened so often I really hated those hands. Lately they've been holding up a lot better, so I'm more cool with them now.

favorites: Black 10's and pocket 6's

Least Favorites: AK (for NL, but its great in Limit) and KQ - The problem with KQ is its my biggest loser over 3k hands...Probably because I feel the need to see every flop with it then can't let it go when I flop any pair - Im starting to let it go more - Once I saw the big Neg $$ for KQ on my PokerTracker, i realized i play it too often

KK without a doubt. Ok, it's a hardcore hand, but if I get it and no one has a hand, they all fold to a sensible bet from me (4xBB or similar).

If I get it and someone calls, I get shafted on the flop. If I get it and someone re-raises me, I get shafted by them when they showdown AA or similar.

Other than that, T2o is not good. it's just far too common!

AJ offsuit - in position or not ... I just so rarely hit with this hand I'll barely even play it unless I'm blind stealing.

KQ Always kills me.

If I have it and play it I lose. If opponent has it and I showdown I lose.

There is no place for Royalty in this modern world anyway. they should now be called the Minister and Vice Minister as opposed to the King and Queen.
Been playing money poker for 34 years and decided in 2002 to try that TX Holdem game on TV. Then found Pokerstars in Summer 2005. Still not an overall winner but i am on a good trend and nearly there.

JJ but only because I had it like 7 times in 300 hands yesterday. Most other hands (except AA/KK) are easy to get away from.

Absolutely love AKs. If you get an A or K high flop and the two other cards are in your suit chances are very good you're going to take down a monster pot. (At the low limits at least where people will chase the flush that you have the nut draw too).

QQ has been killing me lately. As mentioned earlier, when the A or K hits on the turn or the river, there is always the dilemma on what to do next (depending on position). Usually I keep firing away getting those smooth calls. Then whamo ... a check raise on the river and another tough decision is needed. It just never seems to be straightforward.

AK, suited or not, is another hand that causes decision problems. Great, there's a K on the flop ... but a possible flush or str8 draw goes with it. So you fire out a 1/2 to PSB on the flop and wait to see the response. For me, it's usually a reraise (I fold mostly) or call (uh oh ... somebody's chasing) or everyone folds to my bet.

Lastly, TT is not one of my favorites. Sure it's a nice PP, but unless I hit a set, it's in the dumper.

KK is a net loser for me, although only dealt 10 times in PockerTracker. I still love seeing it dealt though. 52o is dealt to me often, so its my least favorite. (its my most common hand over 2,429 total hands at .50/1 limit)

My favorite hands are (in order):

AA
KK
QQ
JJ
AKs

My least favorite hands are:

27o
other hands of the sort
T4o
38o
49o
28o

They all have almost identical post-flop playability.

This month KK has lost me money enough to make me groan every time I receive it in EP. 96 hands, -$21.50. I've lost all in preflop against AA thrice, been drawn out by QQ AI preflop once, and just had a generally hard time with this hand.

AA, QQ and TT have all been very good to me though.

9 10 suited is one of my favorite hands because like you said you usually win a big pot or lose a small one if you dont play it for top pair value. My least favorite playable hands are JJ and A Q. K Q used to be a loser for me untill I finally stopped over valueing it.

Ironically my favorite hands are:

AKs-I can get away from the frlop/turn if I miss and have been getting betetr at dumping TPTK when I sense I am beat(likewise I know when to push when someone is makign a move on me). Plus I always have the FD and Broadway draw potentials.

TT-JJ: Usually when I miss the flop I can dump quickly no shame. When I make my set it's payday.

LEast favorite hands:

AA: God I hate playing Aces(depsite being my best money maker).
KK:: Ditto.
QQ: Ditto.
