people use the term BB all the time, what does it mean? does it have different meanings? some examples.
Dude, don't. You're destroying the game at a rate of 20bb/hr. Don't mess with it.
You can find the accurate numbers for a proper bankroll all over this great forum of ours. But I like 12-15 buyins for No Limit (Maybe even 20 for 6max), 300BB for limit and 20-30 buyins for tournies. If you play a little from column A (limit) and a little from columb B (Tournies or NL) a good rule of thumb for your bankroll size is never risk more than 5-10% of it on any given day.
it seems youre afraid of playing AK post flop so youre over betting the pot to take it down pre flop, maybe you should take the amount of BB bets down a little so you can win more with your post flop play.
I think your best bet is just to bet out 4-6BB with every hand that you raise preflop unless your sure they are gonna call you like I sometimes come out preflop with 7.5xBB when I know its the type of table where thats what I have to do to get my aces heads up.....I also however come out with 7.5xBB with any hand in postion that I think I can pick up the blinds....my suggestion would be to go about 5xbb with AK and get 1 maybe 2 callers...Then if you miss toss out a pot sized bet and if you hit toss out a pot sized bet either way you usually win.

I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.

Yes.
In limit if you play at a .25/.50 table, the blinds are .10 and .25, but we define BB as big bet, which is the higher betting amount (turn and river betting amount), which in this instance is .50.
If you play at a .25/.50 NL game the blinds are .25 and .50. We define BB as big blind here, which is .50.

When people give win rates or bankroll figures, it's big bets.
When people give position or refer to other players from position, it's big blind.

You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

What about when people say "bet 4Xbb" when you get so and so hand pre-flop? They are talking about big blinds right?

Yes ... in the context of NL ... 3-5BB is the standard pre-flop raise range that people advocate.

Poker Tracker defines my BB as twice the big blind for NL. So in .01/.02 NL the BB is .04. All my profit/loss statistics get reported in this way.
This link http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...pic.php?t=2614 doesn't fully elaborate this notion for NL. Particularly the difference you are suggesting between the BB when betting and the BB when BB/100, BB/hour, etc. Perhaps it could be updated to clarify once and for all for NL?

You have to realize the NL is all about the pairs
