Heads up. You and villain are even-stacked.
Villain raises 4x bb from BB. You both have M's of 25 approx.
You have 3-3.
What do you do and why?

M= a crap stat
BBs plz (just for dumb old me)
I have no idea how big M= means but if your stack is big enough to call fold then call/fold 77+ and i think of reraising depending on table image etc

Is this a tourney or a heads up ring game?

personal preference.
Ive yet to see an arguement that suggests the M stat does anything for more for analytical purposes does than just stating your stack via bbs.
If you wish to contradict every post i make by all means do, your posts as normal offer little insight however...

M is a better stat as it takes antes consideration .

This is tourney situation. Often encountered at beginning of HU sit n gos on Stars. In this instance stacks were 3000 w 30/60 Blinds. Villain had raised to 240.

when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

Then you're in the wrong forum.
LOL at bigboy thinking m is Harrington's secret to success. It's just a different way of describing your stack size compared to the blinds, and with no antes, it's just annoying.

So we should use BB when there isnt antes yet then move to M when there is. Thats just plain pointless. When your talking about MTT or SnG situations just use M. Its more relevant for the antes and its not that big of a deal if there isnt any. LOL at you for thinking its annoying.

i didn't like bigboy's attitude. so i'm still LOL at him.
EDIT: maybe i misunderstood you. i do use m exclusively when talking about MTTs or Tourneys. but this is the ring forum right? what's the point of ring NL players ever using m?

advanced strategies for lower stakes RING games or NLHE in general
|
The description fits any NL I guess. It can get confusing. I think its kind of pointless to have so many NL forums when a lot of the topic could be in multiple categories. You'd think we could just have a ring, MTT and SNG forum, with a splash of high stakes.
