Check out the book reviews.

Also, do a search of the forums for poker books. I think that this question has been asked before.

If you're an absolute beginner, read the tutorials available on all the online poker rooms and get an idea of the basics. They're very straightforward and useful.

HOH 1 & 2 are good books, I've just finished HOH 1 and am impressed of how much I'ver learned from this book, well worth the money....Amazon has it online where you can by both and say like $10.
Enjoy

I'm reading Theory of Poker now, and I'll be on to Holdem Poker for the Advanced Player next. I'm not even half way through it and I think I'm a better player for it.

I agree with the rest TOP, Hold'em for Advanced Players, and HOH 1 and 2. If you want to get an aggressive approach to no limit hold'em read Doyle's chapter in the original Super System. It's a little dangerous but it will give you a different spin on things.
For limit and a little bit for no limit I would also but on your book shelf Small Stakes Hold'em.
