What do you play? Currently 10NL
How long have you been playing? about 3-4 years now on and off
Where do you mostly play? Full Tilt and PS
Why did you come to FTR? When i first started out playing i came across the site and loved all the information available.
I got bit with the poker bug a few years back and started playing online and off obsessivly, but due to things happening in my life took a looong break from the game. Recently i decided it was time to get back into the game and make a serious attempt this time. Im starting out at 10NL with 200$, short term goal would be to build a good sized roll to move up to 25NL.
See ya around!

WHAT I PLAY NLHE mostly, starting to play some HORSE
STAKES $1-2 NLHE mostly $20-$200 SNG
HOW LONG Started about 4 years ago, getting serious about a year ago
WHERE Absolute and FullTilt, home games, and a few B&M places
WHY COME TO FTR Been browsing the site for about a month now and like what I see. Now I'll post and find out where I went wrong or right.
GOALS Make enough to fund a custom carshop and some more racing, maybe SCCA in a Corvette
BIO Racing is my first love. Starting racing Karts when I was 11, which by the way, if you know someone who wants to race something, get a Kart. I think my dad was sick of just watching so he got us some dirtbikes. Raced those up to last year, 2 kids and no health insurance put me on the sidlines for now. Raced on dirttracks and roadcourse and even a lawnmower race once. A local home game kept me funded for my expensive hobbies and bad habits but that game has since broke. I know of severel times when I was told "no game tonight" but there was. Online I havnt done too good. I dont play proper bankroll and I go for broke, guess where I end up.

hi everyone, stephan from germany , former lurker (for as long as 1 month up till now).
i`ve been a breakeven player at $0.05/0.10 NLHE with a marginally increasing bankroll for a month now, and the only reason i didnt screw it up within the first week is my keen studying of anything written at ftr and elsewhere.
temporarily i`m playing at 888.pacific poker, next to go to pokerroom utilizing pokertracker via an pokersource online bonus.
I´m quite satisfied with my game until now, for i am a 100% beginner. it got me hooked rather quickly.
future pokergoals are: constant improvement and the guts to move up in limits with an improving bankroll.
cu all around and good luck at the tables
stephan

Hi everybody, great site i must say Im from Denmark, im 23 years old and i have been playing poker a little bit. I have started at very low stakes. My current BR is 115$ (deposited 50$) so i only play 6$ sng's currently on FT but i'm thinking about moving PS, heard its a great site.
But i really hope I can improve my poker skills. My overall goal is to be able to make profitable decisions over the long run. I also dream of becoming Supernova Elite on PS (its probably one of my biggest reason for migrating from to PS).
See you around and gl

Well, now that I'm actively posting I figured I should post in here.
Name: Joe
Age: 25
What do you play? Around 20 hours/week of live home game nl50 and nl100. Lots of freeroll bar tournies (pretty big locally). Online 9-player SNGs and the occasional MTT.
How long have you been playing? Played in casinos several times over the last few years but didn't play heavily until August 2007. Started playing in a variety of local bar freerolls, got into home games around 2 months later, and started playing online in Jan 08.
Where do you mostly play? Stars
Why did you come to FTR? Don't recall how I found FTR, likely through Googling some random strategy question that returned a post. Lurked FTR and 2+2 for awhile, seemed like FTR was a more interesting place to be active in. Although, I lurk on 2+2 and others daily.
Do you have any goals? I really want to grind out SNGs and get several 1000 games under my belt with a respectable ROI. Eventually move into cash grinding after building a nice roll, and take the occasional stab at live event satellites. I'm very much +$ in my local games but would like to improve that area further, esp. given that more and more people I play with are trying to move to poker as a living yet haven't improved their game at all (ie. I hope they become consistent ATMs).
Misc: I'm a PhD student in computer science/engineering. Words of wisdom: poker is very --FT where FT = finishing thesis/dissertation on time.

Where do you mostly play? Usually grinding cash on Stars and mtt's on FTP. Like some of mirco double stack ones.
Why did you come to FTR? Watched a few of Spenda's videos and thought I'd join the community. Hopefully friendlier thant 2+2 haha.
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)?Goal is to reach 100NL and to finally win an mtt with over 100 people [/b]

What do you play? Mostly NLHE mtt/sng, but starting to play HORSE for a change of pace.
At what stakes do you play? $5-$25 mtt, and $20-$30 sng.
How long have you been playing? Started in '05 playing home games and casinos, then online in '07. Recently became more serious about playing during graduate school to help with bills.
Where do you mostly play? Full Tilt/Bodog, and occasionally PS (small roll and not enough time to grind there).
Why did you come to FTR? I was running good that day. I found FTR and other strategy sites through google, but stuck with FTR because of its intelligent/friendly community members, and excellent user interface.
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? My short term goal is to improve my mtt game and get my BR over 5k. In the long term I want to move up to mtt's with 5 figure payouts for 1st, and win one

How long have you been playing? On a regular basis for about half a year.
Where do you mostly play? pokerroom
Why did you come to FTR? I was looking for a place where I could read about NLHE strategy.
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? Short term goal is to build my BR so that I could switch to $5+$0,50. Long term goal is become a winning player at $50 level.

What do you play? NLHE ring
At what stakes do you play? 5NL. I'm new again, and poor, and believe in BR management
Where do you mostly play? Stars
How long have you been playing? A few years, off and on. Right now I'm out of practice but it won't take me very long to knock the rust off my ABC game.
Why did you come to FTR? I play to win. FTR seems to (mostly) be a community of poker players that play to win. Once I find myself a hot girl avatar I'll fit right in.
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? Knock the rust off my ABC game. Build my roll. Move up the limits. Hear the lamentations of their women.

What do you play? NLH
At what stakes do you play? 10$ NL and the 2$+.55 SNG's
How long have you been playing? first time I played NL was years ago but I just started playing regularly in the last month
Where do you mostly play? tried stars and wasn't feeling it too much, I'm on FT now
Why did you come to FTR?
Because I'm not a very good natural player (at anything) but when I work hard and do research I get good quick, FTR is perfect
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)?
I just want to become a winning player (don't we all) and enjoy the rush. A little about me, I just got out of substance abuse rehab and while I was in there I made good friends with anther guy who was a really good hold em player. We played a lot of monopoly money games in there just to pass the time but he gave me some great pointers and I felt like I was getting much better even though we weren't using real cash. After I got out my interest was sparked and I wanted to peruse the game farther. Started playing online and found a great community to see where my knowledge stacked up against other online players. I found out I had a lot of learning to do. Once I started playing for real money, even though it was low stakes, the excitement and risk of the game got my heart pumping and adrenaline going, I loved it! Some of you might say you should not get so worked up over the game and it might become a new addiction, but I honestly consider this a big part of my staying sober. I have a rush that isn't going to kill my body and the total risk to my happiness and livelihood is only 50$ which is what I would spend in one day before. Anyways I'm just on here to improve, I'm not looking to become the next pro or make my living doing this but I want to learn and become a player who is in the green. This will be my third buy in today (of 50$), I chalk the other 100$ lost mostly to tilt and inexperience. I will start posting my hand and hopefully get some good advice, thanks guys!

At what stakes do you play? micro as of now
How long have you been playing? playing seriously for only a week
Where do you mostly play? pokerstars
Why did you come to FTR? i used to play for play money a while a go and came here to learn, and now that i started playing for cash I'm back to hopefully improve my game
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? I wanna be good. I don't necessarily want to make a living of poker, but I'd like to build my bankroll and make some decent money.

What do you play? NLHE
At what stakes do you play? 200 NL ring and 22-33 buyint MTT and S'n G
How long have you been playing? About a year
Where do you mostly play? Nordicbet and Partypoker
Why did you come to FTR? Googled 'hold em strategy' about 6 months ago and I'm still reading the articles over and over (especially Soupie's about MTT)
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? My goal is to make 200 $ a session consistently. I profit slightly so far, playing with a bankroll of 4000 at 200 NL, but my withdrawals so far has happened when I struck gold in MTT's (and I realize that was largely luck combined with a little bit of skill and reading involved the two times I've actually gone to the top. Got a long way to go there) My ring game is up and down and that is where I really want to improve things. To me it seems like I one day rule the coop, the next day everyone sees through my bluffs and draws me out. Which leaves my bankroll fairly stable, but I'd like it to go up every day

I play NLH mostly as a hobby. I currently play primarily at Pstars. Also play at FTP & Carbon Poker. Play $3.00 s&g. I have been playing online about 18 months. I really want to improve my game. I'm looking forward to viewing the video's. I would like nothing better than quit my day job & play online poker for a living. Realistically i would like to at least earn enough to call poker my 2nd job.

What do you play? Run a weekly 50NL / 200NL home game with some donkaments mixed in (keeps the fish happy). Mostly 50NL online but hard to find the time with a family (hard enough to keep the home game kosher with the wife )
How long have you been playing? I've been playing NLHE for about 18 months seriously. Used to live with a dealer at the Mirage in the early 90's so I cut my teeth playing 7 card stud.
Where do you mostly play? Home/Foxwoods/Trop (Atlantic City)
Why did you come to FTR? happened across this site about a year ago and strictly lurked until recently. I am going to make a concerted effort to start posting.
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? Going to work on my game until my kids are out of the house and then take a shot at playing professionally (probably live as I've found that a 400NL live game is softer than a 50NL internet )

What do you play and what stakes: I think I am comfortable with 100 NL at Orleans and 50NL at Luxor. I have yet to play at Luxor, but I really love NL. I hate Limit in vegas because a lot of people call everything and I find it frustrating being unable to isolate and play the odds.
How long have you been playing: I learned to play holdem from myself about 1-2 years ago. I started with facebook and learned check-raises and different moves that I thought were genius, when I didn't know I was way outta my league compared to what the pros know. I moved to house games with friends and started casino playing after my birthday. My dad played a lot before he died, but I believe he was a losing-player; even though he was very intelligent on implied reading.
Where do you mostly play: I play at Orleans, Luxor, and Tuscany ( I love them with their 25$ Buyin, and $1,000 first place MTT) I made it to the final tables once with a good shot at first but I chopped with everyone on the table because I didn't want the lady I eliminated to get nothing.
Why did you come to FTR: I really loved hold'em when I learned it. It teaches me self-discipline and to be true to myself. I have a really strong spiritual background, and I never touch the money that I win. This partly makes me a losing player cause I don't know what to do with it and it ends up going back to the casino when I win. I want to become a professional poker player for 1 month with a bankroll of $1500. Afterwards, I think I'll donate the money, or invest in a friend's startup business. I want to know I can be a winning poker player without compromising my values. FTR is something that's going to let me discuss and evaluate my game with winning players and players that have high self-discipline. This is essential for me, not only in poker, but to discipline my lifestyle.
Do you have any goals: Right now I'm working as a tutor, nevada real estate receptionist, and going to school full time. I major in psychology, so I'm a research assistant in a psychology lab and volunteer at a hospital. I plan to eventually give up poker completely when it gives me all I need to learn about myself, and when I go to grad school. My later goal is to open private practice and hold therapy for kids and people who need it. Eventually I want to open clinics and help many people.
I totally respect everyone's choice of playing poker. I don't want to come off as someone high and mighty. I'm just like all of you learning my way up!
So thank you all for having me! :]

What do you play?: I'm partial to NLHE, preferably cash games.
At what stakes do you play?: I'm going to be starting on FTP with a minimum deposit, so I guess im starting at 5c/10c
How long have you been playing?: Couple months?
Where do you mostly play?: I started on PokerStars, but I'm making a move to FTP, I still play on Stars though.
Why did you come to FTR?: Google search.
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)?: I'm a student of the game. I want to specialize in cash games. I feel NLHE cash games is the purest and most skilled form of poker there is.
