What do you play? Texas Hold Em, mainly low stakes SnG's

At what stakes do you play? Low due to bankroll ($5+.50 buy in|)

How long have you been playing? Infrequently for years, now more seriously over the last month or so.

Where do you mostly play? Online and once every Wednesday at a local 30 man SnG

Why did you come to FTR? Has a seemingly great community and I'm here to really develop my game.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? Goal 1: To turn my bankroll of $150 into $1000 over any period of time.
Goal 2: Make as much as possible out of my investment over any period of time.

It's gonna be good getting to know some people, this site and others have already helped me loads!

    Hi there.
  7. #757

    Cool my introduction

hi i'm a 27 yr old male from belgium , i am a poker fanatic in a vacuum. lol, meaning i have discussed tons and tons of hands with online pokerpals who play proper stakes , personally i have splashed around in online poker from time to time. for shits and giggles , so basically yes i was a donk , i purely played for entertainment because i never had the time to properly grind out profits.

That being said i think i do have the knowledge to beat micro, lowstakes poker. I have recently decided to challenge myself and deposited like 70 $ on full tilt. currently being a good boy and using proper bankroll management. I am very determined to build a proper bankroll. the challenge is to be rolled for 100 nl by the end of the year but i'd be very happy if i make it to 50 nl as well , and it's probaly a more realistic goal but i like to aim high, i started off playing some FR but to be fair it bores me so i got into 6 max where there seems to be way more fishy loose players than on FR. not that i didn't know that already , but i was quite surprised to see the amount of meganits at FR tables , might as well exploit people in 6 max.

I play on full tilt, love the software and rakeback

in my signature you can see my link to my blog, come have a look when you are ( extremely) bored. the log kind of keeps me motivated to put in the hours to grind. really basically talking to myself. Once i reach 25 nl i am planning to get a coach but that will take at least a few months but hey whenever you know a good guy with a good reputation you can always send me a PM.

    good luck at the tables

Hey everyone my name is brad I'm 30 years old and I just started playing poker again after about 4 years. I pulled my whole bankroll out of neteller after it was frozen for two months and didn't look back until the other day when I remembered I still had 80 dollars left at ftp. I have some freetime again so I decided to redownload pokertracker and get serious about learning and playing again. I've played about 2000 hands of 5nl 6 max since starting again and am up about 6 buyins. My goals over the next several months are to rebuild my roll back up to the point where I can play 50 and 100nl again to give myself a nice side income. I used to post over at bet the pot with some good people and the environment here at ftr has the same good feel. I've had to adjust my game quite a bit to the new tag style everyone plays and I still need a ton of work on every part of it so I'm excited to be here and back at the tables. Thanks

    What do you play? NLHE

At what stakes do you play? $10 FR with a $250 BR.

How long have you been playing? occassionally for 4 years (<10 hrs per week)

Where do you mostly play? FullTilt

Why did you come to FTR? Googling prior to sending money to FullTilt. I've been lurking for a long time (3 years or so). It's clear that this site holds enough knowledge to keep me learning for a long time.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? I'm in the process of moving to Las Vegas and I can see myself spending some time in the poker rooms, so I want to be able to play 1/2 and 2/5 NLHE profitably. That will require that I learn how to put people on ranges, correctly calculate things like odds and pot equity, understand bet sizing, etc. and understand it well enough to be able to do it at the table. FTR's role in that would be to continue to do what you are already doing. The reason I went from lurker to posting was to take the first step in pushing myself to get better.

What do you play? Hold 'Em, SnG, and MTT sometimes. and Stud and PLO H/L

At what stakes do you play? Micro stakes (.02/.04, .05/.10)

How long have you been playing? Started about 3 years ago. Decided to improve as much as possible a few months ago

Where do you mostly play? UB and AP. Although after some of what I've read here, I might change venues soon.

Why did you come to FTR? Came across it by chance, and it seems to be a very nice environment for learning and developing ability.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? To develop my poker knowledge and performance as much as I can, and hopefully become adept enough for $10NL within a year's time. Any additional books, videos or various resources and knowledge you guys and gals can provide will be a great asset

Default New to forums so need help

Been playing on line for 10 years
My bank roll is being badly eaten up. After my first 8 months of playing I was running at a loss forever depositing, then after winning a sat to the main sunday $200 buy in at pacific with then 100k grt i hit the jackpot with a 2nd place fin $18.000.
That should have been the springboard to great things.
But it's not working so I'm ready to invest but could do with tips and advice hence joining a good forum.
I'm very knowledgable my self and play at many sites.
p.s I badly need advice on playing on cash table as i know thats where the money is.

What do you play? Specialize in large field NLHE MTT's and occassionally dabble in NLHE, RAZZ and STUD cash games on the side.

At what stakes do you play? I range from micro - meduim level stakes and am concentrating on gaurantee events, whilst building my online BR to such, that i'm able to play high stakes comfortably in the future.

How long have you been playing? 18 months

Where do you mostly play? Started out playin at Pokerstars and Fulltilt, however now all my online play is at Pokerstars

Why did you come to FTR? Came across FTR from seeing the FTR500 event listed on Fulltilt and more recently reminded of it, when coming across the new FTR500 starting on Pokerstars

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? As i am fairly new to poker and to playing full-time, i have a number of goals, ranging from small "tourney by tourney" goals, right up to large goals such as "making a name for myself both online and live". 2011 is going to be a year of concentrating on the "online" part of that goal and then 2012 will be more focused on the "live" aspect.
I think FTR can help in my goals, with regards to the large and varied knowledge base of members and being able to "tap" into it through these forums etc...
It took Phil Ivey 2 years of losing before he became a winning poker player...it took me less than 12 months. If i end up being 1/2 as good as Phil, i'll be happy!

    Default Hello from snowy Michigan!

Hello to daven, sonic, and all FlopTurnRiver forum members, new and old.
My name is Paul and I recently turned 31.
I enjoy playing nl holdem and plo hi/lo mainly in tournament settings on Tilt or Cake.
I've watched and played in 'house games' with my dad growing up and although I wasn't very successful financially I certainly learned how to bet, check, raise and every which way to lose your money.
But the first time I saw anyone play texas hold'em was Moneymaker and Farha heads-up, on t.v., in the main event -and that's when my curiosity got the better of me.
Maybe it was being able to see their cards and understand their game strategy, as well as, reason to believe I too, an amateur, could bluff and out-maneuver a player with more experience.
Ever since then, I've enjoyed learning and playing the game with friends, online, or at the casino on occasion.
Starting from scratch I've been able to amass a respectable bankroll spanning across a dozen or so sites online.
I learned of FTR on cake while registering for another private game.
The money added was hard not to notice and I thought that it was an opportunity that I could not pass up and I'm glad I did not.
I hope to utilize some of the poker tools available and learn how to best manage my time and money to maximize my results and bankroll. (I think I have TOO many sites)
Thank you for providing such great incentives for being a member of FTR.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? I just want to wake up and play better than I did the day before.. win or lose (wins are better though yes? ) I eventually want to get to a point where I can look at a bad beat for any areas that I made a mistake first.. my opponents mistakes should be encouranged.

I've done a little reading here and there (just found the site a few days ago) and it seems like a good community.

What do you play? NLHE mainly, occasionally dabble around elsewhere at tiny stakes
At what stakes do you play? Micro/Low stakes
How long have you been playing? A few years on and off but with I've started to research more and take it seriously rather than just for entertainment with the mentality of "doesn't matter if I lose" the last few weeks.
Where do you mostly play? Full Tilt
Why did you come to FTR? Was googling around for strategy help since I know I'm most likely a fish right now
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? I love playing MTTs mostly, I've reached a few final tables but I have yet to place above 7th even when getting there as the biggest stack. I want to be happy with my performance, and not get knocked out of tournaments with the thought "Why did I just do that?".

    NAME: luke
AGE: 29 old enough to know better.
STAKES: right back down to 5nl. thanks to a massive lack or disciplin and a game with more leaks than i'd like to admit.
HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN PLAYING: online for a year as of the 3rd december.
    WHERE: fulltilt
WHY AM I HERE: I dont practice good bankroll management. I make far too many bad decisions and blame them on everyone else. I let the outcomes of certain situations affect what few good decisions i do make. I'm a lazy fish, that should know better but somehow doesnt. ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE. I dont want to have to quit playing because i really enjoy it but i cant afford to keep donating to the prize pool and never winning any of it.

Right now I have about $100 each in both PS and FTP - my goal now is build my bankroll. Any advise, anyone can give is much appreciated. As although I have many SnG's and a few MTT's my cash games really suck. But I'd say even the SnGs and MTT's I have won have been at smallr limits, no more than $10 buyin's excluding tournament fee. So if anyone of you would like to mentor me, Please... feel free. Need serious help.

What do you play?Ilove to play nlhe but have got alot of love for omaha hi/lo and omaha hi as well as razz. I find that the stud games give you alot of experience in the poker fields as there is alot more thinking and stradgy involved in stud games.

At what stakes do you play?I play alot of micro sitngo adn micro mtts adn just started to dip in to the low field of mtts like 5.50's, also play at 5cent/10cent nlhe cash

How long have you been playing?Well i have started out at absolute poker, then went to fulltilt poker and now at stars but play all three on regular basics. for about 6 years now

Where do you mostly play? mainly at stars lately

Why did you come to FTR? I came here because of lately i can get deep in mtt but cant seem to get further then a min cash something in my game just aint right adn see yu have great help around here with articles and reat members to help me out in this field.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)?I do have a few goals adn they are to be at medium level mtt at stars by 2012 adn the other is big goal which i dont know what year it will come at but that is to play in atleast one event at the wsop.

I thank you for this great forum adn hope to learn alot from everyone here adn articles adn all members posts thank you for this great forum you offer adn will see veryoe tonight in the 3.30 ftr500 at stars acetoopoker at pokerstars.

    thank you

Sooo anyways, sufficient info about me, see you around and hello once more haha.

BTW, what can I do to change the time zone for my account? It's kind of weird having the time like 5 hours off lol

    Default Hey!

Hey just becoming a member, glad to be here! I'm glad to be right here ultimately, heading to post considering I've been reading through a lengthy time.

I've been concerned in some other forums and have identified this place to have considerably far better content, so it tends to make sense to eventually publish!

PS, how do I change the time zone for my account? It's kind of weird having the time like 5 hours off lol
