Hi I'm new

Name: Chris
Age: 26
What do you play? No Limit (tournaments only usually)
At what stakes do you play? Nothing above a 10 dollar buy in yet...
How long have you been playing? A little over a year
Where do you mostly play? Poker Stars
Why did you come to FTR? Learn all the lingo in poker cause I didn't know what people were talking about at the tables a lot.
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? To be able to adjust from Tournament strategy to Cash game strategy.

Hi, I'm Rickie I'm new to the boards here and I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I've bee playing Texas Hold Em Poker for about a year on Facebook and some odd and end poker games and tournaments around where I live. I've always liked playing poker I'm still pretty new to all the new games I'm still used to the traditional game or Video Poker style of poker. Well that's about it for now. Any questions or comments please just give me a holler.

Just forget everything you ever knew about poker from playing it on Facebook, and you'll be OK.

What do you play? No Limit Mostly Tournaments but sometime just family games
At what stakes do you play? I try to keep it around $10 but some of my buddies are pushing to get it to $20
How long have you been playing? Traditional Poker about 18 years, Texas Hold Em about 2 years
Where do you mostly play? Poker Stars, Facebook
Why did you come to FTR? Learn all the lingo in poker cause I didn't know what people were talking about at the tables a lot. <---- Yeah sounds just about right to me
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? To be successful in playing poker and maybe be a Pro one day but highly unlikely.

EasyPoker: Yeah I thought Facebook was playing a messed up game. I'm not a huge fan of Facebook Poker but I don't exactly have the money right now to play on PokerStars even though I do have an account there. I watch a lot of WPT on Youtube.

I do have one question already and I feel like an idiot asking this but. On the WPT what kind of chips do they use? I mean I know they use the Casino's Chips but are they 11.5 Gram Clay Filled Chips or do they play with 14 Gram Clay Filled Chips? I have 8 Gram, 11.5 and 14 Gram Chips they I use and play with.

Sup people,

I'm Espovokp, This is my first post on this forum. Just want to say hi and give a little intro of myself.

I've been playing poker for about 9 months now. Almost exclusively online. I seem to be picking up the game pretty well. Discipline is my drawback right now. I usually stick to 2-5 table SnG's. I lose when i stray from them. Well, not so much lose, but play large Mtt's for 4 hours and take home $4... Woo Hoo

I'm half wy through Harrington Vol.1. I llook forward to talking with you guys here in the future...

What do you play?: What do you got? I'm currently playing nlhe6m. I've dabbled in all varients of he, horse, and PLO.

At what stakes do you play?
How long have you been playing? I've been playing for 3 or 4 years with a bit of book-learning, but only about 6 months seriously.

Where do you mostly play? Stars. I also play on AP, and FT.

Why did you come to FTR? I'm a Grinderschool subscriber and I recently had a big crash from almost having a roll built to go to 50nl, to 5nl, and up to 10nl. As part of my rebuild I'm concentrating a lot more on fundamentals, so I thought it would be a good idea to participate more in the poker community.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? Just to play well. I'm hoping to earn enough that I can actually withdraw from time to time and build a healthy roll. Long term I would like to be a part-time pro, probably playing 6max(he, or plo).

I've played sit n gos and no limit games in the past. However i'd like to focus my attention more specifically to cash games.
I came to FTR looking for advice, guidance in improving my play, thought process etc. I play on fulltilt, and titan.

I also have a quick question regarding "referral code" for raketherake. (assuming someone would get a bonus when i sign up) Who wants the bonus? message me.

Hi everyone,

My name is Redge and I've reached 40 years old last month...snif! No it's not so bad

I'm relatively new to online hold'em no limit cash game and a real beginner.

Actually I am building a bankroll at 2$NL in PokerStars

I've been playing for about 2 months online, but played 5 years with friends and with playmoney online.

I found FTR looking for some answers on google, found my answers here and sticked to it !

Goal: never stop learning and improving ! I love this game, the theory of it, the practice of it, all of it. I've read a couple of books on poker and never stopped reading. My goal is to build a bankroll big enough to keep on playing online cash game and to have fun (even though it's often frustrating). Making a lot of money is not a priority...but I would surely welcome it.

Hi all, my nick here is Giob Latot, I start to play PK, because I had and work's accident. For this reason I can't deposit money to play and starting my bankroll from 0, when I win some money only can play microlimits, actualy playing for a year, more or less and play at diferent sites,Party, Pokerstars,FTP,and some more. Ah I'm 38 years old, I knew FTR searching for internet and I thing it is a very interesting place to learn and continue my poker's evolution. Finally congratulations for the great work that means a place like this ( FTR ), for a players like me. See you at tables ( if you play micros or freerolls )

At what stakes do you play? 1/2 NL Full Ring[B]

How long have you been playing? Have been playing online since December, but home games for the past 2 years and got into NLHE from watching the WPT on the Travel Channel back in like 2002

Why did you come to FTR? Googling of course! But it seems like a tight-knit community of good players that have a wealth of knowledge to impart.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? My main goal is to work more on hand-reading and laying down TPTK when faced with a wet board, figure out why someone is raising my C-bet when I hit an A with A/K on a dry board and to continue staying +

At what stakes do you play? Micro-stakes.

How long have you been playing? On and off for a few years, but just for fun. Now i want to give it a more serious try.

Where do you mostly play? I just moved my micro BR from PS to FT, playing sng at stars on mirco lvl is not good BR management, the rake hurts more than the suckouts

Why did you come to FTR? A friend directed me to this great site.

Do you have any goals? (and how can we help)? My first goal is to improve my game and clear my 100% first deposit bonus and then hopefully move up a lvl.

Hi all.

My name is Phil Johnson, and I'm trying to learn the game -- NL Texas Holdem. I guess I'm quite the noob, but I'm excited to try to learn fast. Only played on Full Tilt micro stakes and I have a bit to learn before I'm making money even at those stakes. Only been playing for several months or so online. Before that I played in a lot of crazy home games.

I'm a software fan so I'd like to find some good software instead of reading a bunch of books!!

I really like the game, but I think i'll like it a lot more if I'm winning!!

Hi,

I'm Alex and I'll be 23 tomorrow.

I've only played NLH so far but who knows what I will end up enjoying as time goes on.

The stakes I have played are 1c/2c ring games and the 10c 360 person tourneys on poker stars.

I've just started playing again this week after not playing for quite a few months. Before that I just played for fun, not sure how long for.

I only have one account on poker stars.

I have come to FTR to learn how to play. I would like to go from playing for fun to making money, weather it be just enough to never have to put more money into my account or serious cash.

My goals in the short term are to learn the basics of playing, hand odds, table selection, pot odds, playing from position, learning how to read other players etc. I also want to learn the poker lingo and be able to easily read and understand played hands posted on the forums along with understanding the odds and so on.

I have started Toasty's guide and I'll prpobably by HPFAP soon.

Thanks in advance for the help I hope to get from the community.

Cheers,
Alex

Where do you mostly play? FTP
Why did you come to FTR? Can't remember why or how. Too long ago.
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? Win instead of just breaking even.

Long time reader, first time poster.

I find myself in an unfamiliar life situation. Due to circumstances, I have a lot more free time than ever. I've decided to get serious about winning at poker.

I've played a bit of poker the last few years. The last 2-3 has been mostly online, weekly bar games, and the occasional totally underrolled B&M visit. Over these years, I am almost exactly breaking even on all of these games, with a slight profit on the bar games.

I know there are two main reasons that I am not winning over time and they kind of go hand in hand: commitment and discipline. Commitment to seriously studying the game in general and my game specifically (not my cards, my game ), including posting hands! The discipline to not get bored, lay down hands when encountering resistance, give the villains a bit more credit at times, etc.

That's it... time to go post a question or two.

Do you have any goals: As you can see, I'm very new to poker. My goal right now is to learn the game, improve, and increase my bankroll. Eventually I would like to be able to consistently generate a few bucks here and there playing 10$NL or 25$NL.

Hi I'm also a long time lurker. I love this site like no other. This place is really awesome. My name is Doug and it great to meet you all. I have decided to finally take the plunge and start playing for real money online. I like FullTilt the best of all the sites I've played, hope to play with some of you in the future! : )

What do I play? I'm trying to stick to NLHE full ring games right now.It seems like I'm doing the best there.I enjoy playing FLO8 and PLO but have been losing big in those games.

Stakes:1/2 (.01/02?)

I've been playing with friends at house games for about 5 years and have always done pretty well.Playing online for a year but only with actual cash in my account for three months.

Playing on poker stars right now and will add some others once I improve my game.

I found FTR on poker stars Private tourney list and for some reason was intersted. After looking through some different threads I realized that some of you guys really know your stuff.

My immediate goal is to turn my losing/break even game into a winning +EV game.I'd like to bring my bankroll back up and eventually start making some money.

I've got alot of time on my hands right now due to a broken tibia/fibula from a motorcycle accident 10 months ago.i'm up for any suggestions including sweat sessions but I'm kind of a donk when it comes to computers so I might need some help figuring how to do that.

I tried to post some hand histories via FTRs converter but wasn't allowed to post.Maybe someone can help me figure that out.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Sorry about the rambling.
I'll shut up now.

What do you play? NLHE is my fav. but play most other games too
At what stakes do you play? Online - Freeroll & small buy ins.. micro rings. Live I will play higher stakes.
How long have you been playing? Since I was a kid
Where do you mostly play? Online I have some 38 poker sites downloaded. Play a lot of private and public games.
Why did you come to FTR? I'm always looking to improve/expand and willing to share experiences
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? Reached my online goals of getting over $100 on at least 6 poker rooms.. looking to expand that and use funds to fund higher stake games.

Hey guys, I just found this site last night as I was looking for poker videos to help me learn. I am crazy addicted, but don't really have the funds yet to start a proper bankroll. I'm waiting on a pretty decent paycheck so I can throw $200 onto PokerStars (my favorite site) and get started. I have played real money before, but usually lose it all in cash games :P. I plan on turning that around, so I will be surfing this forum pretty much daily, asking questions and adding comments to further increase my learning stage. Anyways, off to browse the forum!!

What do you play? Lots of NLHE SNG, some MTT, and a lil Razz and Badugi for fun
At what stakes do you play? Anywhere from $1-10 buyins for SNG, usually $1-3 for MTT but on my current bankroll(still learning and want to get better before adding a big roll) I should only be playing $1-2 buyins

How long have you been playing? About 2 years but only seriously in the last 6 months(20 or so hours a week)

Where do you mostly play? Stars

Why did you come to FTR? Trying to deepen my game beyond abc poker and understand EV, M, etc.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? At lower stakes I am a winning player (about 25% ROI), but I would like to feel comfortable enough to add 300-500 to my roll in 2 or 3 months and start profitably grinding 10-15 dollar sng's. I am also currently trying to become more disciplined about bankroll management as I tend to get bored and want to play at levels higher than my bankroll can support thus squandering my winnings....LOL

I also enjoy playing guitar and writing music... bearlyzane on stars

Hopefully you can excuse my lack of poker knowledge because I am going to be adamant about posting and picking some of your brains. Well...here goes.

Hi,
Tasha here,
Been playing a while, mostly Pot Limit Hold'Em, mostly anything up to $5.
Got here by looking for poker strategy on Google and browsing around.
Hoping to make more than I lose I suppose.
