Okay, this is a bit of a weird problem.

I play significantly worse when I am doing well. I play my best game when I am down a significant amount of money. This is probably just because I play tighter when I'm down I suppose. But it's still weird. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on keeping focused when I am up? Right now I leave a table when I am +5 BB or more and sit down again with my initial buyin. I managed to be up 25 BBs last night over 4 hours using this strategy. Still, seems a little silly.

Meditation maybe?

Seems like you have your problem figured out. If you even THINK that you're starting to play too loose, tighten up even more than you think is necessary. Start playing only PP's and only big cards or something.

Stop playing those damned drawing hands if you're getting in trouble with them.

lol.. Just as I'm reading this, I saw myself doin it.. I'm 2nd in chips in a SnG and was just about to call with a crap hand that I'd never play normally. Had to slap myself and tighten up.

I've been there, and am still there, plenty. I seem to do better on tight aggression when I have a small stack of chips. Once the stack gets big, I'm thinking I'm getting more chasers trying to get into my stack, or I'm in more hands trying to pressure other players while playing some crappy cards.

I started to think I should leave with my big stack and find another table. I finally figured out I shouldn't leave a good table, I just need to respect a few more raises, watch out for the good players, and play even tighter for a while. Leave when the table turns bad, not when I've won.
To help myself tighten up in an SNG after getting chip lead, I might set up a goal -- that I won't get into a hand until .... well, whatever.

It's a problem that plagues my game often. I start playing crap hands and then I dont play carefully when I dont hit. 2 things you can do...gain a huge stack and just pressure the hell out of em to fold...or tighten up and try to value out every big flop.

I personally prefer to lean but you can get trapped this way.
Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.
