I just finished reading the book ONLINE POKER BY DOYLE BRUNSON the book was ok but he did have an interesting vision that got me thinking. Doyle believes that Web Cams will be introduced in online poker in the near future. I don't know if such a thing is possible just due the large amount of bandwith such a undertaking would consume but hey who knows.. So I guess my question to all of you is if such a thing was introduced online would you play? How do you think it would change your game? Would you become more or less profitible? And finally do you think its even possible.

It would probably have little effect. Physical tells are overrated to begin with, even in live games. And even with a webcam, it's hard to imagine that you'd be able to really see a clear and detailed enough picture of what the person was doing in order to pick up a good tell. At most, it might help in situations where a person is delaying and you will know whether he has left the computer to grab a beer from the fridge vs. making a deliberate decision to stall or thinking about a big decision.

If this is introduced, how will I play poker and touch myself at the same time?

Actually, there's one application that I could imagine it could work for.

I'd just be streaming random anime on my "webcam" or something to distract opponents

I think there has already been a site (or more than one) to try this but it bombed due to reasons that most new sites bomb.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

"Doyle believes that Web Cams will be introduced in online poker in the near future."

Highly unlikely.

It's almost the same as video phones.
They have been possible for ever.
There is No interest in them and No one wants them.

No advantage to Web Crack poker.
I can't think of anyone wanting or asking for it.
They could call the new site Cracker Jack poker.

If hypothetically it came to the online poker world.
I can't see how it would effect profitability and it wouldn't effect the game in any real way.

If the masses want it it will be.
If not then it shall not.

I respect Doyle but I think this is an idea that will not make it to prime time.
